Actually no...he's shown many times incapable of using his powers while under the influence of Green Kryptonite and hasn't been capable of simply super speeding away. The severity of kryptonite's effects have always been inconsistent.

Hell in the first season if you remember the episode with the guy who was a meteor freak and had..he had like severe seizures or something because meteors were under his skin, and he basically radiated kryptonite and Clark couldn't get near him without being exposed. Yet at the end, when hanging off a cat walk in a building, Clark is able to, with one hand, pull both lex AND the meteor freak up(they were about to fall). So one arm, lifting 2 grown men? Yeah, that's power, not a lot of power, but still he was weak in season 1. I've been watching a lot of season 10 lately, and he has shown many times he can still use his powers when exposed to kryptonite. Heck, he survives an explosion in a building when he was trapped inside a kryptonite cave. In the Grann\y Goodness episode he is exposed to kryptonite and yet manages to use his freeze breath. The reason you see some inconsistency is because Clark grows a lot stronger as the series went on, so as he grew stronger it's possible he became more capable of using some powers when exposed. All in all, there are way too many instances of him still having his powers when exposed, though obviously he's never at full strength.

Actually those complaining don't understand how Green K works. RED SUN radiation depletes his power faster. Green Kryptonite is just a pain inducer, kind of like how a migraine in some cases can make you shut down, can't focus. Same situation it's just that his cells are literally burning from the inside out; *Like Sun to a Vampire.* His powers don't stop working immediately. The dramatization of him being stationary is just to emphasize stakes, the pain being too much for him to do anything. When in actuality as soon he feels that sensation, he should ALWAYS speed or fly back from the source; But if he did the smart thing every time, no one would be a threat, not even Batman. It's plot induced nerfing/stupidity *THIS TIME, he was allowed to be lore accurate.*

Y'all saying "he super sped away from kryptonite!!!" but the fact is clark could fly and it took a while to get over that mental block. How do you know his behavior to the effects of kryptonite wasn't another mental block? PTSD or something everytime kryptonite is shown.

@@RatusMax it wasn't...for Clark kryptonite is radioactive, like an isotope is for humans and if in close proximity to it you would not be able to just move away so easily. Yes I'm aware this is fantasy. However because it's radiation proximity matters meaning the effects of kryptonite solely depends on how close or far away it may or may not be.

My original comment made it seem like kryptonite had no physical effects, so I changed it to something like "the effects of kryptonite psychologically paralyzes him" PTSD is able to cripple people. So, if clark had bad experience with kryptonite other than it just hurting..like being stabbed by it, he might go back to that feeling of it being inside him and every time he is near kryptonite and feels the effect, instead of running he falls down remembering the pain of the object being in is body.

Because we aren't dumb. The radiation coming from kryptonite hurts him. Even if ge had a mental block, how do you explain all the other Kryptonians also being hurt by it

Clark had silver kryptonite in his system so that probably allowed him to use his powers around the green k. Green k usually weakens him to the point he can't move but I guess if he's effected by silver he can still be weakened by green but the effect isn't as strong.

To be fair if I spent 10 years on hundreds of episodes I probably wouldn’t remember most of them either 😂

@@Deadolon That was my guess too! He could still be weakened by the green k but the effect wouldn't be as strong since he had silver k in his system. Since the silver k seemed to work differently than red it couldn't be canceled out by green.

Jor El didn't give Clark his powers, it was our yellow sun that affected his Kryptonian body.

@@justmeiniowa But he knew that Jonathan and Martha were raising them. He should have granted them both superpowers. A number of other characters in Smallville have had Kryptonian powers without ill effects including Chloe, Lionel, Lex, and Lana.

There's also the whole Kryptonite bullet issue. Clark being wounded by Kryptonite bullets shouldn't be possible. It takes time for Kryptonite to take effect on him. The speed a bullet would move is faster than the Kryptonite can weaken him. So a Kryptonite bullet should bounce off of him just like a regular one, but once it hits the ground next to him it would start hurting him

Normally yes, but it's just a small one that wasn't close enough to fully effect him in time. Depending on the distance and or the size, the effects are slower or faster. Clark probably had only a few seconds to get tf out of there before it fully effects him.

maybe different universe therefore different physical rules? Like for 1970 superman, the moment he saw the kryptonite, his body reacted instantly, while here in Smallville, the rules is, his body takes time or slowly reacts to the kryptonite

It all depends on the story writer. Superman has gone toe to toe with metallo who has a chunk of kryptonite in his chest but let Batman pull out a pebble and he goes weak in the knees. It has never been consistent with the affects.

I wish he expressed a bit more how broken he was. At this point Clark was mentally breaking down from the hallucinations of the "silver" kryptonite. He was trying to stay in control and calm on the outside, If I was him I'd be hysterical and in tears If I thought I was being betrayed by my own friends and family.

Yes but blue in the series make some human stripping his powers away as long as he's in the vicinity of it. Silver Kryptonite gives him paranoia. Gold Kryptonite strips his powers away for good.
