Erica Durance, Kristin Kreuk and Laura Vandervoort from Smallville appear in a Wizard World Austin 2019 reunion panel to talk about their careers, the experiences they had on the set of Smallville and answer fan questions.
Erica Durance portrayed the spunky Lois Lane opposite Tom Welling's Clark Kent and brought a fresh perspective to this iconic character. She has also appeared in the CW's Supergirl as Alura Zor-El and will be appearing in the Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths. She has also appeared as one of the lead characters on Saving Hope and has appeared in Stargate SG-1, Andromeda and The Butterfly Effect 2.
Kristin Kreuk played Lana Lang, Clark's first love for 158 episodes of Smallville. She has also appeared as the lead in Beauty and the Beast and Burden of Truth, plus has had roles on Chuck, Edgemont and appeared in the movie Eurotrip.
Laura Vandervoort played Kara Zor-El, Clark's cousin from Krypton, also known as Supergirl, for 23 episodes. She was also the lead in the werewolve show Bitten and is currently starring in the Netflix show V-Wars. She also appeared in the CW's Supergirl series as Indigo. Other projects include Con Man, Ice, Captain Canuck and V, the television series as Lisa. Her new short film, Age of Dysphoria, is currently making the film festival circuit.
Smallville continues to command a huge fan base, having run for 10 seasons and is the reason the Arrowverse shows came into being. Check out these amazing women who played iconic roles and owned them.

Just considering two aspects of modern superhero adaptations: The superhero origin/teen years (Batman, Spidey Home series), this had that going like almost 19 years ago now. The whole superhero revisionism, where the heroes are recognizable even without the masks and costumes or the powers (Marvel Netflix's shows, also produced by Jeph Loeb, seem to have continued that ethos).

@@atrociousconsequences4432 It's nothing against Melissa Benoist, either. She was great in Glee. It's just the facts. The show Supergirl has very bad script writer. I want a Supergirl show and not a female Kal-el/Superman show. Melissa can not fight. She needs stunt doubles. If you've read the Supergirl comics, then you know that the show Supergirl is totally wrong. Melissa Benoist should take other roles. To Laura Vandevoort. She is perfect. She can fight as she has the 2nd degree black Belt in Karate in real life. Laura looks almost identical to the comics. Laura Vandevoort should also play Kara Zor-el / Supergirl in the planned Supergirl reboot movie. There is no such thing as a perfect one !!

Kristin is just jaw dropping gorgeous and a very succesful actress and producer of 2 series. It was great see Kristin with Laura and Erica who definitely are lovely and successful in their own right. Would not be surprised if Kristin had a hand in the all female panel. It's pretty smart to see all the women together for their own take of Smallville the series. Excellent interview.

This was a great panel. I may get stoned for this but when Rosembaum sort of takes over every panel starts feeling the same. A couple of pannels of jokes are fine but I like how deep the actors can get when they are allowed more time to anwer and to go serious with their views.

@@sanayairani3175 Why don't you like her? Lana's character is close to reality. She's not perfect. She has pluses and minuses. Yeah she made mistakes but her good side is much more stonger than the bad one. Because: - s8ep11, Clark was told that the only way to save the world was to kill the body that Brianiac inhabited (Chloe). Clark thought to do it. But who was the one who convinced him that he could save Chloe and billions of lives. She made him do what would seem impossible (even Legion of Super-Heroes didn't know what to do, but Lana did!): he saved both Chloe and the rest of the world. That scene disproved the opinion that if Clark would stay with Lana, he would never become a superhero; - s4ep2 and s11 she saved Lois' life; - s5ep13 she was there to comfort Clark after Jonathan's death; she searched every pawnshop in Metropolis and returned Clark his father's stole watch. That scene disproved the opinion that she' a selfish person; - s3ep3, the episode where Lana hated freaks. But! When she learned that Clark was freak too, she kicked freak-killer's ass to save Clark; she was not afraid for her life but for Clark's. "Clark is more human than you will ever be!" - she told to the freak-killer who could kill her ("You know, there's only the one thing I hate worse than a freak and that's a freak-lover"). Notice, Lana, being arm-tied, overcame a 84 kg guy BY HERSELF! - s3ep2, "damsel in distress" saved BY HER OWN Martha and Jonathan and herself from gangsters; - s4ep22, she stole and kept the Crystal of Air, risking her own life. Then she gave it to Clark because he needed it more; - s8ep14, she stopped Clark from killing Lex because he would never forgive himself. This scene showed what was more important to her: vengeance for Lex or love for Clark; -s8, at first she didn't want to be with Clark because she thought that "the world needs him more" (as Lois in s10); also don't forget her words in s7ep5: "Clark, I just want to grab on to you and never let you go but one day the world will need you more than I do, and I don't want to be the one holding you here"; - s1ep9, Clark was upset and thought his parents’ life would be better if they had never adopted him. Lana comforted him and told her own similar story with happy ending; - s1ep2, Clark dreams that he's flying to Lana. Then he wakes up and he is really flying! She made him fly as Lois did. That scene disproved the opinion that Clark would never be able to fly, if he stayed with Lana. Actually there are more good deeds made by Lana. But people prefer not to see them. So obviously Lana isn’t the worst Smallville character at least because she could make Clark fly (as Lois could), believe in himself, she loved Clark more than her own life (as Lois and other his beloved ones did). Also deep down Lana was a badass person too. And she needed super abilities mostly to be with Clark, not because she considered herself weak. We see that in season 11. When she lost all her powers, she wasn’t upset at all. She decided to stay in Africa and continue helping children being a normal. Her words “Now, even without my powers, I feel stronger than ever”.

24:25 Very true. I finished the show for the first time this year,, and Lana Lang has already had such an impact on me. I loved her from the start, but her growth especially through season 6 and onwards has really already been a rolemodel for me. I do wish the reason for how her relationship with clark concluded was character driven, instead of plot-convenience driven, but it’s about the journey not the destination with her for me.

I still think it’s a big deal that Lana wasn’t a redhead. But in reality, the entire character of Smallville’s Lana was basically an OC. Kristin did such an amazing job creating get her own Lana and that’s amazing. And rare.

Erica's mix on her microphone was perfect, no detectable echo from the room. It would be great if all the mics could be mixed in a similar manner, as I often find it difficult to discern what guests are saying in many of these types of convention panels

Unfortunately they didn't have a sound technician, only had the mics hooked to a mixer under the table. And I wasn't allowed to hook into that directly, so I had to record audio that came from the speaker.

This video with all three of these amazing actresses/ladies was awesome! Smallville was my cult show in the day. This show really was the forerunner of the whole superhero genre. These three women are amazing and beautiful! I particularly love the fact that they all seem so grounded and didn't turn into "Hollywood Divas"! It’s cool hearing the women of Smallville talking in the own panel. Most of the time with Tom and Michael, the fans not only direct most of their questions towards them, but the two of them together take up a lot of the energy. It’s wonderful to see, but the women deserve a panel like this.

Really insightful view not only regarding Smallville but them as an individual, the huge personality of Erica, the kindness and natural beauty of Kristin and the joy and energy of Laura it's really amazing! PS I hate when the so call "moderator" things that he was actually part of the Show and starts acting and answering like if anyone cares about him.

I love all 3 of those empowered, beautiful and strong women. I am so impressed by how well they are working together on the stage, so respectful and lighthearted. I believe that females getting along in every aspect of life is what will hopefully change the dynamics of female on female rivalry. Cause that whole let’s pit female against each other is so outdated and wrong, I never supported that kind of energy. I always thought it’d be so nice to see women supporting each other and being playful! 😊❤️🙏🏻💪🏻

Wow the girls actually got to talk so disappointed in how Michael Rosenbaum always is loud and takes over the panels and never stops talking. there was on panel that went of the rail with Michael and I believe he dragged Tom into it as well but i heard Erica say this is embarrassing and I agreed with her!!! this was a very good panel!!

I'm betting that one of the movies used to bully Erica's son was House of the Dead. I think it's a testament to her talent and devotion to her craft that she went from such an eye candy only role to Lois Lane in such s short time.

I watched smallville for the first time in 2015 ,oh my god its far ahead of all of Arrowverse ,even have better speed animation than Flash show (Its super speed animation style was so great than Fox Quicksilver actually copied that on Days of future past or apocalypse) .I think its a masterpiece of tv series not just a comic show

I hope we get all three again in Toronto some day. I'd go see that. Michael is fun but he often refocuses the panel on jokes and himself. I need more insight on the show!!
