Thank you. Just got my smartie back from a shop after expensive repairs (trans and a/c compressor) and have decided to do my own repairs since when I picked it up the check engine light was still on!! Said it was an Oxygen sensor .... I am appreciating your vids on Smarts ...

Glad you found the video useful, my exhaust was new when I replaced the sensor, would definitely recommend warming the exhaust up prior to tackling the sensor, which are not too bad to get to. let me know how you get on.

Thanks for the video.Just confirmed what I thought that the exhaust has 2 sensors. Shame it wasn’t the other one. Will have a look at mine though to see if it has been replaced by the Mercedes’ dealer I’ve just paid £350 to have it replaced. I know for sure the one you’ve just shown hasn’t been replaced. Good to see the use of the multi meter also, thanks again.

The other sensor up stream of the cat is a bit harder to get to. Trying to get some initial movement to remove the sensor isn't easy.

Hi, Thanks for the feedback my smart car was first registered in August 2003. Since replacing the sensor I haven't had any problems, but will need to change wiper assembly soon.

Thank you for this great content - in particular how to use a multimeter like this for testing. On my Smart Roadster I have code P0130, P0140 & the same P0141. All related to the lambda Sensors. I'd be grateful, could you advise which replacement sensor your purchased? Am I right to assume the two sensor locations use the same part - if I need to replace both? 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hi, Glad you liked the video. I would change one at a time and run a diagnostic check before replacing the second sensor. The one I changed in the video was easier to change than changing the sensor in front of the CAT. You are right, both sensors before and after the CAT are the same sensor. I will have a look in my records to see if I can find a part number, and message you back.

Thank you, will this part also work in the 05 Mercedes passion coupe? ( gray market car) I'm having trouble finding the correct o2 sensor for this location. I'm in the US.
