Welcome to my quick video on how to install OEM Auto Headlight Stalk on a 2016 Smart 453 Forfour. It will also work for the Smart 453 Fortwo. As the title suggests I have done this retrofit for as little as £30. This is using genuine parts. Also coming up is the OEM Auto wiper install for £30. Also OEM fog lights install for around £150 and DAB radio upgrade for around £50 using the Smart media System. S0 STAY TUNED. Please like and subscribe.

So for £31 i bought a Renault captur entire stalk and squib? Assembly. With both auto lights and wipers. Fitted it all and its working well. Chuffed 😂

Hello, thanks for your video. I installed the Stalk today in our Smart ForFour EQ 2020 (restyling) and doesn’t turn on lights when I cover light sensor. The lights in the other positions works perfect, but with Auto selected the car don’t turn on Halogen lights. Do you know if I need to program anything? It is possible that in new models does not work?

I have had an ask around and the general consensus is that it should work fine, without coding.

@@mvautomotive7092 I bought Valeo 251690 and does not work. If I buy Renault 255675887R, Do you think that will work?

@@jonatannietoa they should be the same part. As the part I took out was renault stamped any way. I am in with the garage manager at a mercedes main dealership tomorrow will ask him and let you know.

@@mvautomotive7092 A lot of thanks. I am having a lot of doubts because I am not sure if light sensor is enabled, because I don't know of any functionality that is currently working with the sensor. My wife wants this feature and I am going to do everything possible 😄. On Sunday I am going to connect OBD and DDT4ALL to check functionalities. I can't attach light sensor photo because KZfaq remove my message. Thanks for your time!

@@mvautomotive7092 today I have checked sensor wires and looks well, I can’t see anything wrong. It would be bad luck if it was broken. I am waiting OBD to check settings, it’s my last hope.

Update. Stalk part numbers are as follows. Mercedes A4535451600. Valeo catalogue number 251690 and Renault 255675887R

I have a question . My smart 453 doesnt have that switch and i want to install fog lights ( in front ) . If i install this switch , will i be able to turn front fog lights from this switch ?

I believe that the fog lights have to be programmed. I will double check and let you know.

Yes you would need to code it.

Was quite nice that the stalks already have a front fog option though. Will help when I install them eventually

So now will the low beam lights turn on when you unlock the car at night?

I have checked neither my DLR or headlights come on when unlocking. once car is turned on all lights come on automaticaly.

If you have the passion or other none base model I havnt yet seen one without it. The middle top of the windscreen your find a circle behind that your see a visible sensor.

Éteignez la voiture et la clé en main. Tirez la manette gauche (lumière) vers vous et maintenez-la là. Appuyez sur le bouton LOCK de la télécommande de la clé. La voiture émettra un bip et les DRL devraient être activés.

@@lepainperdu58 Si vous avez un logiciel ddt4all, vous pouvez vérifier qu'ils sont programmés. Vous devez aller dans emm edison > emm lighting > emm ligting config et cochez la case de gauche indiquant 1 à côté de la colonne drl. sinon, changez-le en 1 et mettez à jour. sinon il peut s'agir des balasts en haut des modules d'éclairage. c'est étrange que le drl ne fonctionne pas mais je suppose que le reste des lumières le sont?
