I'm so grateful that I am from the Yu-Gi-Oh community which we do smell good because of Konami's strict ruling about hygiene in tournaments and locals. The Smash community needs to learn more about Yu-Gi-Oh mostly when it comes to hygiene regulations.

Yeah. I get you get used to your own odor, but jesus christ. Don't you get disgusted by yourself? Not that I have plans to go to a smash tournament, but if this smell problem improves, maybe I'll consider going again.

This has been happening for years G, smash players were always made fun of and they always made fun of each other for smelling bad. For how long this been going on, you think they know how to tell each other about their odor. But I forgot gamers lack basic social interaction skills.

Stuff like this just reminds me of when I stepped into the room where people were playing Guilty Gear at a UK Major after playing my pools in SF5. The backdraft just from opening the double doors alone was enough to tell you that no can of deodorant, will tame that stinky beast.

The tournament officials need to start taking accountability and not let people in the space who smell like literal shit. Simple, if you show up, and you smell terrible, you get asked to leave. No free deodorant hand outs- no "Go take a mini shower and come back.". No, if you can't bother to show up clean, get out. Heck- I have no doubt science can prove for a fact that being around bad smells will impact the average persons ability to perform in situations like this. Someone smelling terrible, should literally be considered an unfair advantage, as it would without a doubt impact the performance of the person next to them. It should be worthy of being disqualified.

Honestly if you just shower once, wipe some deodorant, spray some kind of body spray, even something like Axe- you should be fine. Just make sure to apply deodorant before sweating, a good 10-20 minutes after a shower, after your body is cooled and skin is dry. Applying it directly to sweat can create bad smells. Axe and similar products aren't bad if you spray a small amount on say your wrist and neck. People go wrong with those sprays because they just hold down the nozzle and draw a huge X on their torsos, resulting in a ghastly smell. In the past I tried many colognes and actually preferred and used on a daily basis, Axe Anarchy for Men. I'd receive compliments on my smell while wearing it regularly enough. While other people wearing the same stuff smells absolutely disgusting. It's about how you apply it. Also if you find you smell really bad even when doing everything right- make sure you visit the hospital. There are many medical conditions that can effect smells, such as simple diabetes.

Used to help run a local for ultimate back near release. one of the constant players always smelled so fuckin bad. Their tag was sorta weird and I googled it, turned out they had both a shit fetish and a gainer fetish, their reddit account was the same as their tag. 🤢 Dude was good enough to not go 0-2 but couldn't piece together why everyone avoided him

For some, antiperspirant is the only one they can use. No joke, regular deodorant, in my case, makes me break out under my arms.

@@Mixhy553 Washing also doesn't work once the smell is impregnated in the clothes, it only takes little sweat to start to stink.. Signs of this is that you can see stains on the armpits of the shirt or even feels hard on that area. If that happens, it's almost sure you need to get rid of that clothe.
