Honestly ultimate with custom moves would have been the most fun casual game

When I went to University I managed to convince a friend who also played competitive to play a round of customs. The session devolved into him camping the ledge with Villager trip sapling, while I waited for the Smashville platform to move so I could safely approach with an autocancelled wind kong. 10/10 should never have been banned.

l wouldve liked custom moves if they were more readily available. l was actively trying to get everyone's custom moves and a barely got any complete character-sets by the time ultimate came out... l wish they never gave you duplicate moves, then it wouldve been fairly managable :/

Wind Kong is why I found out about Void. People said that a guy named Lethal Trilogy was a Diddy from Hawaii handling wind kong pretty steadily and I watched their tournaments and saw Yung Void.

This is custom equipment, not moves, but one of my favorite things I ever did with Smash 4 was create a Yoshi set that had a piece of equipment that gave an attack boost, one that boosted that power of thrown items, and one that gave him a home run bat at the start of every stock. If that Yoshi threw the bat at you, you had 2 options: try and dodge it, or try and perfect shield it. If you tried to perfect shield it and failed, it would punch through most of your shield, or break it if your shield is damaged at all. If you tried to dodge and failed? Well, have fun eating 30-50% off of one attack.

I'm never going to forget the ONE time I accidently managed to get a kill with Spinphony. Somehow the turn around completely fucked up my opponent and despite getting knocked out of free fall they recovered in the wrong direction.

I think a natural evolution to "custom moves" would be something like an EX System. You already have a Final Smash Meter, just chop it up into 3 segments, maybe even 5, and have Special Moves, and other possible actions, cost 1-2 segments when "EX-ifying or Smash-ifying" the move. Doing so could simply buff the frame data, in some cases modify other factors like knockback or damage, or in more fun cases outright changing how a move functions similar to how Cloud's Limit Break mechanic changes his moves. Imagine Ganondorf players being able to spend 1-2 segments to change Wizard's Foot into Wizard's Dropkick to use as a recovery option.

Me personally, I'd have had something like these down for Kirby; comprising all the original abilities from _Kirby 64_ (Stone, Spark, Needle, Burning, Ice and Cutter) and some additional ones. *B: Inhale/Copy Ability* *B1: Ice* _(blows out a constant cloud of highly-concentrated cold air to freeze foes. Kind of like the Ice Breath custom from Vanilla SSB4, but slightly longer ranged, can be angled up/down slightly on the ground, and causes Kirby to quickly spin and spray both forwards/backwards in mid-air, ala Super Ice Sprinkle in "Kirby Super Star". Also has a different facial animation with Kirby closing his eyes and pursing his lips to exhale, ala the later games)_ *B2: Bomb* _(pulls out a large Cherry Bomb with one tap of the button, which can be thrown again with B. Tapping B drops it in place or straight down in mid-air, holding B allows you to throw it at an angle decided by how long you do ala "Kirby Super Star", and tapping B while dashing launches it straight forward. Hits hard, but you can take damage from your own blasts if carelessly used)_ *B: Hammer/Hammer Flip* *B1: Burning* _(turn into a fireball and launch forward a medium distance, hitting foes once to scorch them and knock them back. Most custom moves were great and gave bad characters more options. The best custom moves were the "mobility" type ones on slow characters and ones like the lazy charge shot/better homing missiles on Samus that completely changes her ledge trapping and edge guarding game and makes her terrifying. But then there were the good customs on already good characters that just makes them unbearable to go against, like Pikachu's or Villager's.
