Here in the US Soft Shell Crabs are usually fried, baked, and grilled.

Got 11 big brown crabs in 3 pots today. You should try the female crabs this time of year. They got inside eggs, wich turns bright red when cooking it, wich is delicious with the white meat.

In the US the soft Shells are sometimes preferred due to the sweeter meat, albeit less of it. I’m in the Northeast so it’s common.

In Maine right now our lobsters are 9.99 a pound for the soft shells. Unless you know one of the guys that work on a day boat. Then there 2.99. Good haul Smash Baby!!! 🦞🦞

If you get a lobster in the process of shedding , cook it like a soft shell blue crab and eat the whole thing . Shell and and all . Just deep fry them

Looked like a great forage, so many biggies compared to the smaller ones you have been finding lately. I definitely like my rolls with a little Mayo and lemon juice but white pepper is a must when doing rolls like that. Black pepper makes people think it's dirty (atleast in the restaurant world)

The level of conservation that you guys in the western country do, like UK, US and Canada are amazing.. We Asian are way way way behind.. I've seen it myself, some fisherman or foragers just scoop out everything from the ocean, regardless of how small the fishes or lobsters or crabs were .. Its saddening for the future generation.. But at least i have done my part in telling them to let the small ones or female ones go.. Whether they listen to my advise, well thats up to them, at least i've tried..

Hi mate I use to go years ago with my dad to Pleimont point past the fairy ring use to get loads of brown crabs. Also good spot for lobsters. You can get there on you bike motor vehicles are not aloud down there any more. Great and entertaining forage mate.

I prefer brown crab to lobster if I'm honest, I'd be well chuffed with that

I wouldn't cook a soft shell crab,we have green mud crabs here in West Aussie if they are soft shell no where as nice cheers.

Yeah, soft shell ones isnt anything to keep. The lobster meat hasnt filled the shell, and its very watery. The meat inside, is way less than you think. Basically an undersized lobster in a legal shell it is.

Maybe you could try and compare steamed seafood to boiled seafood next time🤔
