I have a few Access port videos already out there but I still constantly get questions regarding it so I wanted to just make a single video combining it all into one. Whether or not you are new to access ports or have a little experience with them this should help answer all questions from what your knock values are, setting up Flat Foot shifting, Launch Control, Data logging and much more.

You explained this wonderfully. Ive always owned really older cars ie: you use a screwdriver or wrench to adjust stuff. Now that ive got a new 2016 Lancer. Well, im going to go a little wild to make it a enjoyable, fun daily driver. I love being able to see exactly whats going on with the car. That aspect makes me a bit happy, after shelling out such a huge amount of money for this thing.

Extra comment for people with the VA chassis WRX (FA20DIT). The knock sensor on that car is extremely sensitive and it is normal to see DAM values ranging from 0.612-1.000 so don't get worried when it drops when the weather gets warm or there is a small event. Edit. Also that car will show a -1.41 Feedback Knock when the ac turns on but thats also fine.

First timer here on this platform and a noob question following: Can anybody explain in their words what is this Feedback Knock? New to this words terms on high tiers cars. Thanks in advance!
@Smeedia
@Smeedia 2 жыл бұрын
Feedback knock is when thr knock sensor picks up on detonation. Essentially the ECu detects combustion events when they shouldent be happening. Detonation will destroy the gas layer protecting thr piston and the valves, the extreme heat from thr k oak event is what leads to burnt valves and broken ringlands 🙏

@@tyger2000 I agree with tanner with his question if it was only a 1 time deal. I’d like to add. Was it under normal driving conditions? Did you almost stall that day? What other mods are being ran? And was the tune with those mods included, Bc that’s a big adjustment. Sometimes if you monitor the heart attack box (Cobb tuner) sometimes you will see the way you drive or mistakes in the driving sometimes trigger the ecu to adjust for that very mistake.

Still gotta get my ECU unlocked and a tune in, but I'm at about 300 miles on the RA block, oil change after I got home from the builder. (120 mi). I figure I'll probably do the oil change at 5-600 miles once more with conventional 10w-30 and then throw in the Motul X-cess Gen 2 and Purolator filter I picked up (at 1000)! I can't wait for my break in period to be over but I don't wanna just throw away money just driving for solely that reason 😂. Can't be throwing away money when you got a wife and kid lol

Hey Tanner. I have a 2020 Sti with 30K and recently had a Cobb SF intake, IAG AOS, cylinder 4 cooling mod and Cobb Accessport installed with a pro tune. In the past 2 days the AP has recorded a fine knock learn of -6.90 and -7. The feedback knock has not gone over -4.20 and my DAM has stayed at 1 at all times. Any reason to be concerned with the fine knock learn numbers? Thanks

The term for pairing your AccessPort to your vehicle is called "marrying". When I got my AP, I got on bended knee in front of my STi. She accepted. We've been the happiest couple ever since then.

I really like your videos bud. Your very informative and have bring great humor along with it. Big Fan! I just installed the stage 1+ OTS map from Cobb. My cars feedback knock was as low as -3.81 never positive tho. Should I be concerned? Also about how long does it take for the AP to learn your car?

Nothing to stress about and totally normal value. You'll see up to -4.20 considered normal for knock readings. And it will continue to learn but after a reflash let it idle for 15 min or so then drive it normal for the first 10 miles or so

hey man, I just bought a 2006 WRX STI. it had an existing Evap leak that I fixed, I had to unplug the battery and pull the alternator to get to it. Previously the car never knocked over -4.0, now I see a value of -11.0 when I come up a hill. Just cruising, no boost, going ~60-65 in sixth gear. any suggestions?

So I bought a 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 with an Cobb Accessport already on it, and a problem I have is where the previous owner set the rev limiter, which is why I'm watching this video, but my problem now is that under the tuning section of my Accessport the "adjustments" tab isn't there, is there a way to add it or should I contact a professional tuner about this problem

Awesome vid. Is it normal to have AF learning 1 go into the -12 or -13 mark while cruising highway speeds and or around town. Then drop back closer to 0 and so on. Is that a gauge that should be monitored? I’m assuming the car makes constant adjustments as you drive.

Great video. I’ve been waiting for this. I do have a question. What are the small numbers below each live monitoring gauge? I’m assuming high and low recorded during driving session. If your live numbers return to zero or whatever is spec after a knock peak for instance, is that good? If something was seriously wrong would it read bad numbers in the real-time all the time? For instance, is a registered high and low something to be concerned about or if the real-time returns to zero or whatever spec should be does that mean the car has made the correction ? Sorry I hope this makes some sense. It’s been something I’ve been thinking about as I am new to the access port scene. Thanks again!

Correct those are your highs and lows, as for it returning to zero which parameter would you be referencing?
@Tactical_Duck_
@Tactical_Duck_ 2 жыл бұрын
@@Smeedia I guess the main 3 Important ones. DAM, feedback knock and fine knock learn. So say they registered a high number of -2.8 or -4.2 and it stored it in the high low section but the real-time is at 0. I know dam is ideal to 1 with 15-21 wrx. Im assuming it can drop if it reads some numbers with the other 2.
@cryptikreap795
@cryptikreap795 2 жыл бұрын
@@Tactical_Duck_ for dam, it can fluctuate a little due to bad gas usually, and it'll climb back up in small increments, if it drops say to 0.725 or whatever and starts climbing back up to .850 and back up to 1.000 you can assume it was bad gas, if it stays down you could assume theres issues, if you have a -2.8 knock and its now at 0, that knock has gone away and will be learned out through the accessport when you go back over that rpm range/load, from personal experience i see it start at say that -2.8 it'll be active and slowly work its way down, that means its actively doing its job and learning and correcting that load/rpm range, the lower 2 numbers read your LOW/HIGH respectively, so that can be useful to see peak AFR,boost etc but really doesnt mean much

@smeedia yoo! I just got my tuned and they installed the Accessport for me because i didn't know how the previous owner tuned the car and i had no AC with it to be safe. Question is, what happens when you reflash? I want to do Launch Control but the faq says i need to reflash after changing the rpm settings for it to work. The tuner just added their custom tune and i see it in the AC and an option to reflash. What is a reflash?
