Assalamualaikum... I have noticed one thing with most of Muslims in Asia when they start something they say Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim. The meaning of this Islamic phrase is, “In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful“. It’s recited by Muslims daily for different occasions. The most common place you’d hear Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim being recited is before reading the Holy Book (Qu'ran). It’s also said during obligatory prayers (salat) before Surah Fatiha but it is Sunnah that this be recited silently in the reader’s head. The Qur'an or the Sunnah does not instruct us to read full Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim before starting any work, the Sunnah only orders us to read Bismillah (In the name of Allah) and nothing else. Jazak Allah Khaiyran.

It doesn't hurt to say the whole phrase. Plus, the more you remember and recite Allah SWT's words and recite His name (eg: Rahman, Rahim), the better it is. I see some Muslim youtubers who don't even say Bismillah. I am glad Afzaal bro says the whole thing. It feels good to hear Muslims practicing Islam. Also if you say it a little out loud before eating or doing any work, you'd remember that you read that phrase, reading it silently can bring doubts at times as to whether you read it or not. There are children watching this channel as well, so it's better they learn the importance of everything Muslims do in life. P.S. Reciting Bismillah silently during prayer where your own ears can't hear it, is NOT allowed.
