👍 That’s a sweet 357 magnum revolver. The Korth isn’t bad either.Lol. As you can probably tell, I’m a S&W ( and Colt) fan- they are good enough for me. When you speak of having action/ trigger work done on your Smiths, are you talking about having the internals polished and tweaked, or something more like replacing the factory main spring and or other parts?

Replacing springs and having the internals polished. I have a very good gunsmith that does then for me. They work like glass. Thanks for watching

Korth has never been on my radar, mainly because of price,but they sure are nice. My first experience with the 686 was one my dad's friend ( a Sgt with the local PD) came by to show us his new one( 1987 or so) We went out and shot it and i thought " wow, now that's nice!" Why I never got one i don't know, just always ended up Pythons ,or K frames- maybe its time..........

I originally was complaining about the cost of the Korth revolvers. But you can get a blued one from Nighthawk I believe for 3799. That’s not really all that bad if you think about it. A vintage Colt Python in good shape is going to cost you about 3k. So I guess these revolvers aren’t THAT bad in cost

It is really not that bad in cost for the build quality you get. You are correct, if you get a really good condition Python they are the same price. It is not going to shoot better than a cheaper revolver but is better build quality

@@TerryBentonI mean anything that’s hand built the way the Korth is made is going to cost. Labor costs have gone up No two ways about it. Really what your buying in that revolver is art.

@Johnny-jr2lq you are correct. Something that has that much time amd labor in it will be costly. It is a well made revolver no doubt

because of your videos and the simple fact revolvers have been in use for such a long time, I wanted to get one. I'm befuddled, the Taurus was heavy as a tank, the S and W was weighty but more balanced in my large hands, and the cylender release is not bad to opperate. The 1,799 Colt the blued or black looking ones were so strange and I couldn't get the release to pull back as it is slender and position seems to extend fully like a tiny slide pull to the back and was so strange as it would bind up and twist in the channel. I just couldn't believe you can't pull the release of the big dollar revolver. I gave up on trying more as there was no real competition to the Smith and Wesson options. IIs this a problem for most of the Pythons? or just the black dark colored ones? I'd like some comparisons on the function, and release mechanisms. Thanks

You must have encountered a bad one. Most people that ate use to smith and wesson and shoot them on a daily basis do not think it is intuitive to pull on a colt release I stead of push like a ruger or smith. I have shot colts alot more and it is muscle memory. I find myself pulling when I have a smith in my hand. I ha e do e it on videos. Lol

I have a 686 No Dash without the M and a 686-5 Plus 7 shot. You can’t compare the current S&W revolvers with the pre-lock models. A good comparison is the Manurhin 73.

I don’t like that cylinder release at all on the Korth. I have a Rhino that I like everything about except it’s odd cylinder release. It’s action is excellent. But, I much prefer the cylinder releases on the Smiths and Colts. Thanks for the video.

Hope you can upgrade your wooden grips on your S&W-686 revolver. Replaced my S&W-586 originally with traditional contour walnut grips to rosewood combat contour grips with finger grooves. Those original grips will never be used again.

When you speak of having action/ trigger work done on your Smiths,are you speaking of just having the intervals polished and slightly tweaked,or have you had the main spring and or other things replaced?
