Every single person who works at ANY Airport around the world, whether they are baggage handlers,TSA Officers, airline pilots, flight attendants, captains, engineers, traffic controllers, - they are all LEGENDS in my eyes.

Capt. Sully is a hero for saving all 155 passengers. But Capt. Abdul landed in a shalow, narrow river and in between 2 bridges and only 1 soul died (rest in peace). Both captains are heroes

not only did Rozaq had to land between two bridges, he had to put his plane into a very tight 360 turn just before landing to avoid hitting the 2nd bridge. Extremely risky, but it paid off

If there's a hall of fame for pilots, these pilots must get a place in it, I think handling such situations depending on your piloting skills is phenomenal, Lord if your hand had any part in it thank you for helping save all those crew members and passengers.

Causes FYI 1. China Airlines 006 - Loss of thrust in the No. 4 engine followed by air crew error in follow-up procedures. 2. Northwest 85 - Rudder hardover caused by fatigue fracture and failure of the lower rudder power control module manifold. 3. Southwest Airlines 1380 - Fan blade failure in No. 1 engine due to undetected cracking. 4. Cathay Pacific 780 - Fuel contamination due to faulty airport fuel delivery system at Surabaya. 5. Garuda Indonesia 421 - Double engine flameout due to hail ingestion in a thunderstorm. 6. TACA 110 - Double engine flameout due to water ingestion in a thunderstorm. 7. Qantas 32 - Engine fire and explosion in No. 2 engine caused by oil leak due to fatigue cracks in an oil pipe. 8. Cactus 1549 - Double engine failure due to bird strike.

@@daominh4234 Yes and no. NTSB investigators determined that the aircraft flew into a bad thunderstorm (Level 4) causing both engines to flame out due to water ingestion. However, you are partly right about the hail - the fuselage suffered some hail damage. Also, the No. 2 engine was damaged by overheating.

@@daominh4234 It was a combination of both, the Hail blocked the engine bleed valves, preventing it from being able to dump and water collecting up in it, and then lost the engines go water ingestion because it couldn't dump it

When I was younger, I always thought an emergency landing in the water would be preferable to crash landing on the ground. It didn’t occur to me that the water could break up the plane. I wonder if they ever thought about having humongous inflatables that could keep the plane on the surface once it’s in the water… like nasa used when astronauts landed in the sea.

I’ve always wondered the same thing! But I was more afraid of water landings because of, wait for it, sharks. 🤣 (I know, sharks would be the least of the probs, considering….) So have to laugh at myself.

@@TeamTLJ - well, being scared of sharks after a water ditch isn’t too embarrassing… here’s my embarrassing travel story… When I was about 16/17 my family did a driving holiday around California, Arizona and Nevada. I’d lay in bed most nights worrying that either a big earthquake might hit or that I might literally get abducted by aliens. I’m not even joking. I’m from the UK, the scariest thing we have coming from the sky is pigeon poop 😁

This is really frustrating as there are stories of something happening to each flight, but no comment as to WHAT happened? Why did the 737's engine explode? Why did the engines on the Cathay aircraft misbehave? "What just happened?" says the co-pilot. Yes, what did happen?

I have been in flights number of times.... turbulences are scary... I remember my flight from New delhi to Indore , as we were about to approach airport it started getting windy and mild showers.... it was a scary experience as there was sever turbulence but hats off to the Pilots who made it safely and everyone in the flight felt redeemed!!!

Garuda landing on the java river has more difficulties in certain pov. Narrow, more curve, and it was landed between 2 bridges.. 1 didnt make it, 60 saves

Al Haynes is at the top of my list, landing a plane with NO hydraulics, with 2/3 of souls on board surviving. And it wasn't the first time he'd landed a and with no hydraulics, it was the SECOND!!

Try making one about JetBlue Flight 120 (I was on that plane when it landed into a heavy New York rain storm Facts: The plane departed from Antigua around 5:00 PM local time. Halfway through the flight, it hit severe weather. Captain Diaz decided to engage a different heading to JFK Airport. Soon, the plane was on the ground, but was gobbling up the runway fast. It finally came to a stop at the edge of the slippery runway. Everyone survived.

The Northwest flight with the jammed rudder got super lucky split rudders are rare and had it been a full rudder, it would a went into full rudder hard over and the plan would a been doomed
