I grew up with MJ and I can't understand why everyone associates DQ's videos with MJ in any way. Not every move comes from MJ. In the past, Dimash has deliberately made songs and performances related to MJ. But he doesn't move like MJ, sings differently and looks different. He also has a much stronger masculine charisma (to put it mildly). The only thing that reminds me of MJ is the stage presence.

I so agree.❤️👍MJ only invented a few moves and made famous others, many taken from James Brown. Yet when do we hear reactors comment about how this guy dances like James Brown or other artists before MJ ???🙄😂😂😪 Especially "When I've Got You". Always Thriller as if 100's of other Metal and Rock bands did not put out scarey vampire type music videos🙄

Some still need solid ground to stand on while listening to Dimash. Especially when the singer comes from a place with a different musical tradition than theirs. For them it's like crossing the ocean barefoot and they feel intimidated. To start believing their eyes and ears, they apparently need something to remind them this had already happened with MJ or Freddie Mercury. But they will get there. We know that Dimash is like no other and stands out for his originality and yet respects his peers before him. Because he is a great artist and person❤😊

Not gonna lie. After watching reactors video so many times, I keep listening to this song specifically the “siren” chorus part in my head all the time now. Before sleep, waking up, on shower, making breakfast the “aaaaaa….a……a….aaaaaa” plays in my head. all the time. It’s crazy.

I loved your reaction, Carl. And I love, love this song, along with the incredible When I’ve Got You. It is not Love is Like a Dream or any of his other classics but it is not meant to be. I think people need to remember that his concerts can go nearly 4 hours. He can”t just sing his heavy, meaningful classics one after another but needs to break up the heavier songs with high energy ones like this or Fly Away. I think it is wonderful that he loves to experiment and surprise us and I am hopeful that pop songs like this may draw more people to him who will then listen to some of his older songs and also hear his message.

Dimash's willingness to experiment and surprise his audience with new sounds and styles is truly commendable, and it can serve as a gateway for new listeners to discover the depth and versatility of his artistry. Thank you for your reaction. 😊 I’m really looking forward to the music video to Smoke. Maybe the song will be put into the context of a story again. I read that a gangsta tale may be coming our way. I love that Dimash’s MVs are so multilayered: the music, the story, the cultural and historical references… one complementing the other. That is a huge and intelligent work Dimash and his team are doing (When I’ve got you, The story of one sky, …) But maybe I have to cool my jets: the video may be “just” for the fun of it? And that would be absolutely awesome too! 😄

The prospect of a gangsta tale sounds intriguing, and knowing Dimash's penchant for incorporating multiple layers of meaning into his work, it's sure to be a compelling narrative. You make an excellent point about Dimash's videos being multilayered, with each element adding depth and complexity to the overall experience. Whether it's cultural references, historical themes, or simply the joy of storytelling, Dimash and his team consistently deliver high-quality productions that captivate and engage audiences. And even if the video turns out to be more lighthearted and fun, that's still something to look forward to! Dimash's charisma and stage presence are always a delight to watch, no matter the context.

Comparing artists across different eras and genres can be subjective, as each has made unique contributions to the world of music and beyond. Both Dimash and Michael Jackson are incredibly talented in their own right, with their own strengths and areas of expertise. Dimash's classical training and diverse skill set, as well as his involvement in philanthropic and educational endeavors, are indeed admirable. However, it's important to recognize Michael Jackson's impact and influence on the music industry, as well as his contributions to humanitarian causes. Ultimately, both artists have left indelible marks on the world, each in their own way.

Your opinion is entirely valid, but Dimash has fans from all over the world, of different ages, and who have different musical preferences. Dimash is trained in and likes all types of music so it makes sense that he does not want to stick to just one genre. I like almost everything Dimash does because I have eclectic tastes, but his pop music is not my most favorite. But what I like most about Dimash is that he never bores me because everything he does is so different and he continues to surprise me with every new song.
