I'm only a jazz listener but I'm sure this is the way the jazz music evolution can explore and reach unexplored path toward the beauty. Kim plays a modern jazz and it doesn't matter which chords or scales he's playing... my ears enjoy his music.

I love the colors you play with as the solo progresses! Even as you begin to expand your palette, you always give us a smooth pentatonic riff at the end of each section to bring us back down to Earth. Fabulous work!

Two things I’ve noticed since I started watching you. First your hands are a lot more relaxed, especially your right hand. Your movements seem effortless. Second, you are much more comfortable using modes in your solos.

Excellent. Watch it over and over and learn. Practicing with backup tracks better than a metronome. It keps you in time and it's fun.

I have been following Mr. KIM for over a year now. He makes the keyboard talk. I don't play half as good as he does, yet I have learned quite a bit just listening and watching him slide up and down those Black and White keys. Putting sheet music in front of him while he plays would just get in the way. He is a true MASTER at his craft. 1/20/2022

.........my dad was an accomplished pianist in my country India, played in 5 star hotels, in the lounge, but yet he was open to the younger generation of pianist and learned a lot from them. His skills grew............and he was not ashamed of it.

Incredible playing - I'm not sure I have ever heard a better solo. For me jazz funk is the pinnacle, although I love many kinds of jazz. I'm a beginner and I know I'll never reach 1% of this level but this is the kind of music that inspires me to keep trying and keep working at it.

Don't say never. I like listening to 🎹 players like Kim. I pick up bits and pieces of what he does. No, I might not reach his level of playing, but he gives me something to shoot for. All me and you need to do is keep on practicing. 2/24/24

@@poerava Thanks. To be fair although I'm a beginner as a player, I've listened to quite a lot of jazz in my time. I think it's more a matter of a difference in tastes rather than me being very new to the world of jazz. These things are quite subjective. I'm a particular fan of the kind of outside playing that Yohan Kim is so good at, that's one of the reasons why I enjoy listening to his solos so much.
