Me. This made me so stressed because I’m from Minnesota and know where at least the chef and Wisconsin is I now live in Illinois and visit Minnesota at least once a year and sometimes I go through Wisconsin and once I went through Iowa. This just made me stressed screaming at my phone like “no that’s not where that goes!!!”

fun fact: the federal state of Hawai'i has 132 islands total*, but many are too small to be drawn on global/national maps. usually, between 5-13 are fully drawn out, depending on the size of the map. edit: *128 if you exclude the midway attoll

The term Okie was a derogatory term back in the 1930's when many people from Oklahoma had to migrate west in order to find work because of the Great Depression and Dust Bowl. As with other migrant workers they were not treated well by locals who thought of them as "job stealers". However I don't think anyone is going to be offended by that term nowadays. It's similar to the term "yankee", a word that started as an insult but then was taken back and used as a name to be proud of.

Honestly they should do one starting with labelled precuts and see how far they can go. In high school i think they usually just get you to label a map with the outlines, not actually draw the states

I'm pretty sure Shayne is the one that has traveled the most. He was raised in both Virginia and Arizona before moving full time to California so I'm shocked he didn't know more, especially when they didn't know Virginia.

I'd watch this again if they do Europe - the more chaos, the funnier the show :) However, I think giving them a pre-cutout of a state they already had defeats the purpose of giving them a hint? Then, asking for help causes them both to lose time off the clock and lose time figuring out where to place a state they already have.

"Montana's humongous." Ian is correct. We used to drive 4 hours on a Friday after school for sports, play Friday night and Saturday morning, and then drive 4 hours back Saturday afternoon. I frankly don't know how I made it through all of that

When you live in a state and never travel, it's like no other places exist outside of books/internet. I learnt more about the world map, there's only be a handful of states I can point and name on the map.

it's not our fault all the midwest states are gigantic squares with a combined total of 20 people living there. At least coastal states have some personality to their borders.
