red velvet always gives me this elegant vibe...super classy and down to earth. they don't have to try hard but they just give off a nice vibe that attracts people to them...i think that's what makes them so special compared to other girl groups

Honestly, i don’t think it’s fair or accurate to state that Irene and Yeri can’t sing (yes i see some of y’all). If you listen to their recordings, you can hear that the choruses are heavy with Joy, Yeri, and Irene’s vocals, while Wendy and Seulgi does the adlibs. Joy especially does many of the harmonies for most songs since her timbre is well suited to their concept. Irene and Wendy usually does the low harmony because of their strong low register, and when Yeri does high harmonies you can really hear it. And of course, Seulgi does so many beautiful adlibs which is totally needed so Wendy doesn’t get too exhausted by the time of her high notes on the bridges of their song. In conclusion, there’s no particularly bad vocals. They just have their specific designations.

In the last chorus Seulig and Wendy had to do high notes and adlibs so Yeri and Irene had to sing the chorus, They may be RV's weakest vocals but at least they can harmonize and maintain their voice. It also doesnt necessarily mean that they cant sing, so I dont understand why ppl say they are untalented. Ppl need to appreciate Yeri and Irene more as vocals.

Agree, they may be the 'weakest' when you compare the vocals of all the members, but they add so much color and they are as important as others when the five of them harmonize together. Each member is important in the group and no one is untalented.

NCT VELVET I agree. Also Irene and yeri are only “weak” vocals because joy, seulgi, and Wendy are extraordinary vocals. Like red velvet are one of the few groups where all their members have collabs. Yeri is considered a weak vocal yet she has collab with many other artist and has her own solo song along with Irene and her collabs. :)

Other than mamamoo RV has the best vocals on average for any GG of this current gen. Twice maybe more famous. BP may have perfected their Girlcrush concept but RV has the most diverse discography and the best vocals considering all their members can sing well. Their weakest vocals can easily hold their own with respect to their counterparts. Many of you may disagree but i seriously think this to be true haha.

SM probably has the best vocal trainers. Their vocals sound so natural and it's rather easy to say this group has the best female vocals in the more recent generation of kpop. I can't even begin to describe Wendy's voice T_T And I'm not even a fan .-.

I saw a video of Wendy when she was still in Canada and she was slaying before she even entered SM. If anything she kind of has to sing in a way that's worse for her voice in order to fit the more girly concept of girl group songs. But in general the average vocal talent coming out of SM tends to be way higher than any other company, although of course the others have their really good vocalists here and there.

I remember Wendy saying before that nothing beats a person filled with confidence whenever they perform and it shows here. Wendy's confidence made her shine and even showed her potential as a solo artist. I hope SM will give her another SM Station single at least, since a solo debut would be too early, with RV being only in their third year of activities. I wouldn't mind another acoustic session with RV either or maybe a WenSeul duet...

Wendy singing here really does show her vocal prowess and why she's my bias. Those vocals are unreal! Love her voice so much. SM Entertainment doesn't allow her to stretch her vocals on a lot of the RV tracks, but when she does... Mind. Blown.

She stills hit a lot of high note, not all RV tracks should have "stretch vocals" as you mentioned.They're singing live here and in studio they should not just overdo the power to it like having too much vocal.It also depends on the genre of their songs

@@stvvbb By stretch her vocals it doesn't mean to oversing. Wendy simply can do way more than a lot of RV tracks allow. It's not all about high notes and showcasing her range. Wendy can sing. Just listen to her here. She's not pushing her vocals hard at all. She's just singing and just the technique and phrasing is different from the others, who also sound amazing, but there's no denying Wendy's vocals are so versatile and agile. I'm always amazed at how good she sounds and how well she utilizes her vocals.

All Red Velvet's songs are hard to cover, even if you're a talented singer. They're not just singing, but they also take care of their harmonization, which only them can do it, since they're meant to be a group. That's what happened to Rookie by Idol School and Red Flavor by The Unit. I'm not comparing, but it is the fact that only them can bring the song perfectly.

@@Lyf4rMusic This is also why despite not being the top gg of this generation, RV is who the new kids look up to (look at RBW trainees for example). They aspire to be as dope as RV for a reason. These 5 share a bond that is undeniable yet individually all 5 girls are absolutely different people from different worlds. It's probably inspiring to know that even with said differences, it is possible to be amazing because hey look, RV did it why can't they?

Only people who can truly appreciate the whole package of incredible RV will stick longer and join this chill and mature fandom (we don't stan them for popularity like some parts of kpop community does to some groups) I've also just seen the RBW cover of would u just now after u mentioned about them... Nice Vocals and harmonies.. they're 5 too :) ... RV have really become THAT sunbaes for anyone in the industry from rookies, fellow idols, and fav. group for some K-Indie and K-Rock artist's (they expressed it openly) .. That's not easy to impress soo may people and yet they do continuosly

@@Lyf4rMusic I thought about it not too long ago but there are two spectrums in music that I only realized existed recently: A) the artists that molds themselves without help from others B) the artists that are perfectly moldable and are not limited to working with just one team to be themselves There are the artists who make everything themselves from the bottom up (produce, write, choreo and film their own work), and then there are artists (like RV) who can work with anyone and everyone but STILL always kill it regardless of who they work with, what style those different teams bring and what concept that team wants to sell... Basically they are the latter who can be anything but yet always deliver top quality work while always making it a point to include their personal signature touch. I don't take it lightly when I say I stan this artistic group.
