I feel like people always confuse "strong" with "braindead"; there's no way JP is higher than a character like Marisa, Blanka, or Honda on a braindead list. Yes he's broken, but you can't reach high rank without knowing what you're doing; Marisa can easily hit diamond just doing MP > MP > Gladius for days. Honda and Blanka are basically 2 specials, 2 normals, and 1 combo each.

Chun should be in honest at least. She’s by far the hardest alongside Dhalsim. Sure, her buttons are nuts, but you need to be so good to play Chun li and pull her combos compared to the rest of the cast. Jamie in the same tier as Marisa is kinda nuts. Dee Jay in galaxy brain is just ridiculous. Based tierlist imo.

I've mained honda since sf2 hyper fighting, and this is definitely his best iteration imo. Easy to use, higher than average health, big damage, 2 of the best special moves in the game, has one of if not the easiest confirms into level 3 in the game.

With Honda, you can hit them with your super from hand slaps, giving you a ton of time to confirm into super. Hopefully I didn't suck at explaining that lol

@@newphonewhodis7152 as far as I know, any handslap except OD can be canceled into lvl 3. Right near the end of the attack animation. I have a lot of respect for grappler mains. It's usually an uphill battle. Good luck with gief!

I'm about to make a JP counter guide. As a JP main, I can tell you he's way more counterable than you think. He only has so many outs in the corner, his neutral game relies on a heavy, repeatable lights or 3 combo mediums. Don't get caught in full screen and don't get burned out at full screen - just follow him to the corner patiently. In burnout, he's extra + so you will be slow as hell. Especially with the new patch, half the inputs go missing anyway so there's your "nerf" lol.

I'd honestly love to see people process all the options to reply as Dhalsim. It's way easier to flowchart offensive than denying options reactively at all times, spacing drills and slides. I believe the mental stack for Dhalsim players is higher than most of the cast. Maybe I'd be proven wrong but I want to see it.

So if a character has good stuffs he's carried? Feels weird to me. Jaimie has a very good SWEEP and a good DR ( with HP but u still got to manage the distance too far you only get 1-2 hits and get destroyed by DI, too close and u can get check or even neutral jumped ) has different combo routes depending on spacing and drink level. And i can keep going on all night. He's definitely not galaxy brain since i think no character in this game is. But common Jamie same tier as Marisa please guys take yourself seriously!!! @@EdgeO419 na people genuinely felt that way 😄Personally I wasn't sure, you never want to prematurely judge a character as being not too good/broken in the beginning, cause you just don't know how people will play them later on. Throughout the history of fighting games there's always characters deemed weak that later on turn out to be broken. The stuff people do with JP now is way more obnoxious than anything I saw in the first few weeks of SF6.

He was designed to be a cheap, overpowered and tilting "boss" character. and that fact that he has shit the no other characters have like a fireball with grab properties, the kind of stuff you usually see in marvel.

Yeah so much of her gameplan to build medals requires a good neutral game, baiting out DPs, and consistent anti-airs. No plus-on-block moves, no invincible reversal, finicky anti-fireball, and arguably the worst drive rush in the game. This is my first real fighting game and I feel like I never would have learned basic footsies if I mained another character because so many of them can just skip neutral if they want.

Dee Jay being in "galaxy brain" despite being even more braindead than Ken and Marisa, Honda not being considered the most braindead, the whole "Honest" tier (no such thing as honest characters in fighting games), damn this tier list gave me pain even if it's a joke

Dee Jay combos are super reliant on spacing, counter hits and punish counters. His stand fierce has two different hitboxes and they behave very differently and lead into different options depending on which was hit, and then it has more layers when considering combo potential on counter & punish counter hits. On top of all this, he's super susceptible of being punished with DI because his longest range cancellable move is crouch MP, meaning he doesn't have a low forward as a combo starter. It's much easier to walk away from Dee Jay than any other character in the game. Dee Jays have to work to open you up, and they have to be up in your face to do big damage. He's among the most difficult characters in the game right now. edit: more examples of things that scrubs won't know/use: 1. Dee Jay's flash kick only hits standing opponents. crouch fierce causes force stand, so it's best to mix that in when doing flash kick for corner carry. 2. EX sway won't hit due to spacing unless you shorten your punish counter/DR combo 3. level 2 super requires rhythm if you want to get a side-switch, if you miss it, you won't get a switch and you'll sacrifice 1K+ damage 4. comboing off EX fireball is difficult and requires proper spacing 5. one of his target combos is the worst in the game at -8 on block and isn't even a combo 6. medium sobat into level 3 is difficult to execute 7. his anti air is back HK, meaning it gets crossed up by certain moves like buttslam and makes you do a stand roundhouse instead 8. Dee Jay's flash kick is anti air invulnerable for 9 frames, so it's less consistent as an AA than back HK 8. Dee Jay is designed to be a strike-throw and punish counter monster. scrubs will not be able to punish counter effectively

Really DeeJay has to work harder then Gief to open people up, harder then fireball less characters in general? Also with jumping mk thats plus 2 on block, a command normal kick thats Plus 3 on block, a bunch of feint moves to make people wiff, probably the third best fireball setup in the game, THE BEST DR in the game, he can literally dance on most of the cast with his very oppressive toolset. He's not braindead easy to use but he has a bunch of great tools

His heavy flashkick absolutely is air invulnerable, you just have to do it kinda late because it's not air invulnerable the entire time, similar to chuns new tenshou kicks. Doing it late also helps protect you against cross ups, which he can technically struggle against but if you're mindful of your spacing it will rarely be a problem. I agree that his combo game being reliant on situational confirms is a legitimate point of difficulty but the damage he gets for learning these confirms is absurd, and I think the fact that he has some of the most looney tunes ass, rps, anti footsie options in neutral and maybe the most oppressive strike throw in the game definetely balances that fact out. Sure back walk is a fairly safe option against him, but he makes up for that with the fact that he has multiple options to quickly reset his pressure and steal turns, that all require a different response.

@@alexanderdenison2950 heavy flashkick is air invlun in frame 1-9, that's worth mentioning, but it still makes it less consistent than back HK. they basically have to jump on top of Dee Jay for him to be able to take advantage of that. and let's not forget, the list is about the "scrubbiest" characters, and a scrub would never consider air invulnerable flash kick for the first 9 frames. genuinely curious, what's more looney tunes about his rps than other characters? and other than his DR, what other anti neutral tools does he have? It's not like he has headbutt, buttslam, spire, teleport, superman punch etc.

@@EdgeO419 jumping moves aren't really described as plus or minus on block because they're landed at different heights and timings - and all jump moves in the game are "plus" on block (it's always still your turn after the opponent blocks one of your jumping moves, no matter what height you landed the move). and that +3 normal kick you're talking about has 19 frames of start up, is normally +1, and is only possible to be +3 if you perfectly meaty them. If it's landed +3 in neutral, the Dee Jay will be too far away to do any combo (unless it's meaty on okizeme). and a scrub wouldn't know that

@@WeedSmoker69 knee shot or j.2lk is an air command normal that is plus 2 on block meaning basically that if he uses that button he can get prety much free jumpins on anybody not already waiting to DP , it also is good at crossing up so yeah. You can watch whole Smug matches on this channel where he uses this button to close in and lock people down with Dee jays nightmarisly good buttons up close.

Lily is basically Honda, but bad. She has the same game plan except after her headbutt you have a 50/50 instead of just losing a whole bar of drive gauge. And she doesn't have buttslam.
