He was not the first. I went to Highland Park Highschool in Dallas from 1991-1993. Unfortunately, the one black student (that may have been mixed race) took his own life. Everyone loved him, except for those he playfully picked on. He obviously suffered from some kind of mental or emotional issues. I think it’s in poor taste to make a spectacle out of this young man in this piece, as the comments of the white students were racist. Why even ask what they think? Who cares what the HP kids opinion is on a minority students race? No hate meant here, I was just cringing as I watched this...

Yes he was this is 1974. Before that being black in highland park would get you arrested or beaten by the DPD
