What aren't people understanding about Haiden's comments? This is AMERICAN motorcross and Aussies have been pretty much dominating. As an American I want to see Americans win over foreigners. Its not hate towards any of them I like and appreciate the Lawrences they're absolutely badass. Haiden isn't taking shots at them with his comments, he's just giving the American fans what they want which is a win. It's okay to be proud of where you're from, Jett is up there with his country's flag and being proud of his homeland and that doesn't see to offend anyone.

While I comletely understand your comment Andrew (no matter where we are from, we are patriotic), I am fearful of a divided us/them shift moving forward. We all love our sport. We all love to see competition and the elite rising up. But if riders start getting boo'd from the crowd, that's not what I would want from anyone. I am old enough where I saw it in the early 90's. The Americans saw their riders as the fastest on the planet. But a French rider come over and dominated. He was (by a small cross section of the public) vilified and by all reports (later interviews) had enough, and went back to Europe. Please don't encourage an us/them attitude.

Here is my take on this whole thing. The AMA was started here in America. Probably why its called the American Motorcycle Association. Riders from all over the world have come to the USA to race against Americans in a sport that has been dominated by Americans. I love to see riders from the world come over here and win. Why you might ask? Back in the 80s we had some of the most physical racing in the suoercross era. Who was one of the best was Baile. During those times if Baile waved a flag from France who cared. All the fans cared about was good racing and back then it was top notch. Why is it even being brought up that Haiden flew the American flag? Its America land of the free so if it offends anyone that lives here in America! Then you have a problem with America. In my opinion Haiden is exactly what the sport needed. Look at the crowds showing up to watch this kid race! His crowd for autographs is bigger than when Jeremy McGrath was racing. I think what Haiden is doing is perfect and i dont know about you but we do have a championship title fight on our hands. Im all in for Haiden winning this title. Stewart said it best. We will look back at Washougal 10 years from now and go that was the race that Haiden went from a rookie to a title contender. Go Haiden ride your heart out and when you win wave our flag and be proud of our country. Love his interviews. They are bad ass!

Moto de Nations, Ryder cup golf, Olympics, US vs Russia hockey back in the day, World Cup Soccer, etc.....and last I heard, HD is currently competing in the SMX World Championship. No hate between countries, just the usual flag waving in competitive pro sports. Everyone picks a side and cheers for their chosen side. Heathy athlete and fan behavior. Adds to the excitement.

I apologize for the rant, but it needs to be said. Lol. Most have completely underestimated Deegan this entire year, and he’s been proving them wrong left and right. JT - you didn’t know what this season had left for him? You’ve got to be kidding me. Haiden has been number two this whole year. He’s learning how to set up the bike better as well. Clearly… IT WORKED. This crap about that idiot Steve saying “Haiden is trying to get people to hate the lawerances and they’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars to be able to race in the US…”. That is the biggest BS I’ve ever seen. Freaking Jett had the Aussie flag up there. What gives???? He should be ashamed and you guys should be too for allowing that garage to be even spoken. I’m glad to see a young American hyped about America. The Aussies have been winning pretty much everything for the last two or more years in the 250 class. It’s nice to see a hardworking young American do well. This kid is only getting started. Hunter looked very defeated, tried, and like a baby during the post race presser. He wasn’t himself. It’ll be an exciting remaining season.

I don't think Haiden's comments were controversial at all. Why because he is a Rookie 18 year old? He is right, maybe Hunter is worried, it was just a comment and its good for the sport. Everyone is is vanilla man, show some guts. As for the comment he is glad he can put an American up front? What's the big deal, I love it. No one says anything when Jett is wrapping himself in the Australian flag....Funny how that works isn't it. Anything to create drama I suppose. Jett will handle Eli next year. He won't win every race but unless he gets hurt he's probably winning his rookie 450 sx title too. I don't see anyone currently in the class or coming up that's going to be able to beat him. The speed is one thing but the control and racecraft he already has are just unreal. Eli might have the speed but the consistency and race management skills are going to be too much for him. It's how Dungey always beat him, and Jett is even better at it than he was. As for Haiden coming up and beating him, it's not gonna happen. The level Jett is at right now is probably outside his reach and Jett's only getting better. This kid is going to be setting records until he retires as long as he doesn't have a serious injury.

What has Haiden done for Weege to suggest that he doesnt know if Haiden really feels that way about America or not but they have been masters of marketing. The two are not mutially exclusive and everyone i know totally believed it. Also, when the next race is televised, weege and whoever else is annoucing will likely be constantly talking about MX des nations and who is going to be on team usa. @@SoleAddictions i was shocked that Matthes got that deep and twisted about it. Haiden i think wants to be on the Des Nations team and has been kind of waving the flag lately. He said that Hunter is the one who is supposed to be winning these races but that he was glad to put an American up front for the fans. To take that and twist it into Haiden trying to put everyone against the Lawrences is neurotic behavior by Steve, unfounded. Jett was on the podium after he won with a huge Aussie flag in the air and getting cheered wildly, so for one, Haiden didnt put anyone against the Lawrences, and two, why isnt Steve upset with Jett expressing his patriotism the way he did...

All makes sense of why Steve ranted about Deegan on Pulpmx show... That Sunday at HRC Honda Honeymoon had him feeling nice the next day for the show; or somebody must have expressed their hurt feelings or probed him on the ride day, so Captain Steve put the cape on & made it controversial that the Deegan family is WWE & on a mission to divide the fans by showing pride for your country & building rivalry for championship as well as puting words in Brians mouth saying he was probably the one that told Haiden to do it. I love listening to the Pulpmx show, the guests, whole crew as well as Steve... but that "opinion" was the worst take I've heard since the Tony Alessi show where Steve sounded just as bad as Tony, somebody should have said "stop it Tony (Steve) you're embarrassing yourself you sound stupid". Just the way I as well as majority of the moto fanbase interpreted Steve's words.

The county has cut the number of events they are allowed to have, so they are fighting to stay alive and carry on a tradition! Ive been there many years and actually crowd was smaller than years past.

@@markdawson8946 3 hours to drive 3 miles only to show up to no parking. Hundreds if not thousands of people turned around and left after after sitting for hours. It was ridiculous. Missed the first race. It was a joke, I paid months early

The only reason the 4 strokes took over is because Ricky and James switched. No 4 strokes were beating them two.

Two wins and only rider to go 1-1. PLus set lap times faster than the 450 class in moto2! Thats a good brag if you ask me. Way better than hunter has done this season. LEt me guess his ribs are hurt that's the reason why? Give it up all ready. Deegan put a butt kicking on the whole field and will continue to do so going forward. Go USA!

The comment is a compliment to Hunter… he knows Hunter has the pressure of the plate and being the dominant in form rider…… You guys who are trying to “divide” them, create animosity between them and so on, it’s pathetic. The Lawrence boys have been dominating and waving an Aussie flag around ffs…. Deegan says it’s great to put the Americans back in front and you can’t handle it…. 😂😂😂 I am an Aussie and live here in Australia. The coverage of theses races is horrendous. The first moto coverage of 250’s in Melville was again an embarrassment to you. How could you have the cameras on the same rider for the majority of the Moto. You should be liaising with the camera guys and “covering the race”….. we miss the majority of overtakes, there is sfa about any other rider than the top 5 and the amount of time spent reminiscing about how good RC is or JS is also insanely ridiculous. Daniel Blair should hopefully go to WSX and WSX knows how to do it right…. Including coverage. You people just feed off the riders… who should be on 10 times the money on the big stage like they should be!!!!

Common guys just say it how it is, 250 2 stroke has no place in the 450 class, they're a disadvantage in the 250 class to say the least, one of them backward rules that need to be looked at and changed as no one wants to see them go against 450s it's just brain numbing

I think you are so far off base with your dissertation that it’s literally embarrassing! I’m of Cuban descent, my father fought against Castro during the Bay of Pigs Invasion was wounded and got to spend 22 months in Castro’s Prison Camps! Haiden Deegan didn’t do/say one single derogatory word about anyone’s Nationality! You have chosen to make your world political views into the sport of motocross! I have yet to hear you denounce the MX of Nations! That is an event based on National Pride for each and every country in the world! We as fans are sick to death of our sports being submerged in to the world of politics! I honestly don’t want to listen to your diatribe on Haiden Deegan, a minor child by the way, just as much as I don’t want to see the fools kneeling during the National Anthem! These are not the time or place for anyone to distract from the reason we are there! To have Haiden express his proud accomplishment that had nothing but non-political patriotism on display and have you twist it for your own political perspective is an absolute disgrace!

I'm stoked for Haiden and his beat mode performance and his whole rookie season. I also am ok with confidence but I'm not with politicizing sx/mx. The off color comments about bringing it to America was a clear shot at Lawrence. For what? Seems from the outside Hunter is one of the only ones who has stepped up to defend Haiden when he took Smith out in the sx race. I just think politics serve no purpose here and this isn't about the U.S vs the world. Being cocky is just lame and childish. Come on Brian. You like your kid being a rude ass? I would have expected better from you.
