Great list. #4: I saw the liiiight, I saw the liiiight. No more darkness, no more night"! #7: I tried to contact my local Snap-on rep a couple of times to purchase that hose pick set and either he was too busy to respond or didn't care because I'm not at a shop. I went ahead to use the money on something else I needed at the time so I gotta save up again. I may just order the set straight from Snap-on if the local guy doesn't want my money. #8: I'm going to give those semi-deep sockets serious consideration. I have a possible job in the near future where that style socket will come in handy.

I agree on the flat tipped hose pick set,love it ever since I bought it.The radiator hoses come right off.I even got someone else going to buy the set after he saw it asking me about it.Did buy the light at the same time I bought the flat tipped radiator hose pick set.One of my favorites is the FAR7200 3/8 drive air ratchet,one powerful air ratchet.Have to watch out where I put my hands.Slammed my right hand once with it cussing,it hurts

I love the semi deep sockets. I hardly ever use my shallow or deep sockets at all any more. Im like you i have 1/4 and 3/8. The hose picks are great as well. Snap on hammers are the best on the market i have several and use them daily. I absolutely love my snap on ratchets. I personally do not like flex head ratchets at all but comfort grips are a must. My number one would be the PWZ pliers. I have four different sizes. Great video. I like seeing what other people use and like.

I love semi deep sockets. I use my chrome 3/8 snap on and I have 2 sets of gearwrench 1/4 semi deep 4mm to 15mm great sockets for 30$. I hardly use shorts anymore. Also having a 15mm 1/4 is great a lot of companies don’t offer that

No. 9, the wobble plus extension, also takes the place of a universal joint, which had the habit of locking up on you at the worst possible time. This just powers through; big improvement on that front.

The ratchet you showed was my first ever tool truck/snap on tool i purchased when i got in the automotive field. The first time i used it I understood exactly why that single ratchet cost more than the 205 piece Craftsman "mechanic set" i got from Sears back in 2009. That tool set was the first tool purchase i made in my life. Anyways i still have that one ratchet in my box and i have none of the 205 piece tool set. I lost most and gave away the craftsman ratchets.
@natec599

Pretty much same. I was all about craftsman until I got a 1/4 and 3/8 ratchet with a 6 piece screwdriver set as a promo package deal right after I started working professionally about 15 years ago, still going strong just bought a new handle for the 3/8 a couple weeks ago. It’s seen daily use and is perfect 👍

great video brother, the only thing i would of added to your list is the 14.4 impact gun but it had to be hard to only pick 10 things. you should do a video on the thermal imager, that thing looks pretty sick.

Geoff Clark one day I have a lot of stuff I want to get done like Wrench organizers and socket organizers and etc. everyone wants to see it but I want it to be right the way I like it before showing it off. There will be some idea stolen from it I’m certain because the way I have made some stuff for the sockets etc so gotta get everything done then I will shoot one. Just takes a long time to shoot it right and also edit it. I had several hours that I put into bills toolbox tour

I'm going to get some of those hose picks. But I have to disagree with items #9 and #8. I always thought wobble plus and semi-deep sockets were for non-professionals so they can buy one set instead of two saving money, not because they are better tools. I especially don't like wobble plus and got rid of mine because they would accidentally shift from wobble to straight and I would have to remove the tool, put it back to wobble, to then worry that it would happen again. I like separate wobble and straight extensions. I'm surprised Mr. Koon doesn't.

Slightly off topic here, however, I was hoping everyone could weigh in on what they think the best vice grips are? I think we all agree that the Snap On locking pliers are not up to par (however, I don't think they are horrible like many people do, just not Snap On normal quality). I have two pairs of Knipex vice grips, standard 10" & long nose 6", and they are decent.. good quality for sure, but not outstanding, and interestingly not that far superior to the Snap On's when compared side by side.. More rugged for sure, but it's nothing like holding a pair of Knipex pliers in your hand where you instantly know you are holding a super high quality tool. So please offer your opinions and insights.. I am torn on what to buy, and I feel like the community is by far the best place for this type of question/answer....
@KoonTrucking
@KoonTrucking 6 жыл бұрын
Tried & True Tools the original “Vise Grips” by Eriwn are hard to beat. I have tried others but obviously everyone copied them for a reason. I believe they make the best pairs on the market. I have about 8 pair of them from large size to medium and real small as well as several pair of needle nose.
@BlindBatG34

Hey Clay. It looks like the M word man gave you a thumbs down😆. I agree on almost every level. I don’t deal with big diesels or a lot of electrical stuff so I can’t comment on the scanner or the digital test light. In place of those I’d add the CT761 3/8” cordless impact that Bill has and the CTR767, long neck 3/8” cordless ratchet. Snap-On socks would be tied at #10. I like the Snap-On hammers but I’m not sure the overmold is worth the extra $30-40 over the Trusty Cook/Cornwell version. I have a FLIR C2 thermal camera, $500 off Cornwell or Amazon. It’s a nice little thermal camera. The FLIR uses a visible sensor boresighted with the IR to overlay details and edges into he IR imagery. It makes the IR video look much better than it ordinarily would given the tiny focal plane (80x60). I agree on the semi-deeps, although I tend to favor Cornwell sockets over Snap-On. If you are starting out, go semi-deep impact sockets and add-on as necessary.

Agree with list except I like the Craftsman version of the pliers called “Ignition Pliers”. Partial to Trusty Cook who used to make Snap On deadblows but they’re both great. I saw those hose picks right after I bought the sharp end ones and was like dammit!

I've never been a fan of their hand tools. The battery stuff is a bit better but you could argue that that different manufacturers are better or at least very close. Where I think snap on is best I would say is the specialist kit like the thermal imaging camera to name just one of many.

Good video, thanks. I love the semi-deep sockets too, I have full metric sets in 1/4" and 3/8". Just wondering if those AWP45 mini pliers are Snap-On rebranded Knipex Cobras - I couldn't get a close enough look on your video, but I have some Knipex pliers that size, and they look awfully similar.
