I wouldn't waste my money on Snap On cordless tools. I love their hand tools but Milwaukee m18 line and IR 20 volt line offer much more affordable cordless impact wrenches that are built with better quality and more options in power tools that will run off the same batteries

Are they brushless like the Snap On is?

+Bundy's garage The Milwaukee fuel impact wrench (5year warranty) is 1,100 ft.Lbs of break away torque and it also has three power mode setting for when you don't need all that torque. And dewalt just released a 20 volt brushless impact wrench that has similar sates to the Milwaukee and makita will also be releasing a high torque brushless impact wrench around the first of February.

I had similar problem with a Craftsman and Snap on so when called for another round I went to a Milwaukee m18 fuel 3/4 inch and the bolt yielded easily. And it was cheaper.

Snap On's Electrics just fail to impress. They make some of the finest automotive hand tools in the world... But I'd go with Milwaukee or Dewalt any day of the week. Even the red bodied Dewalt that says Mac on the side is a better choice in my opinion. Oh, and my 1/2 inch AirCat 1250k tears Honda crank bolts loose with a regular deep well socket every day.

I have the Milwaukee M18 1/2" impact wrench and two of my co-workers have the latest Snap On 1/2" wrenches. I have heavily used my M18 wrench every day (work day that is) for over 2 years now, I often use it until the metal end cup is too hot touch comfortably. I have compared my M18 along side the Snap On wrench many times and the M18 out performed it every single time. The M18 feels solid and formidable in your hand whereas the Snap On wrench feels somewhat light duty and timid. One of my co-workers burnt his up after owning it for only about 6 months, fortunately it was within its 1 year warranty, by the way the M18 has a 5 year warranty. If you are looking for a quality battery powered impact wrench, buy the Milwaukee, I haven't come across a better wrench. If you are looking for quality hand tools such as, ratchets, wrenches, screwdrivers etc., buy Snap On, I personally think they are the best on the market.

If its brushless then why its have a brushes? Not only has them but there are two versions. One is CT8850 and CTEU88500 and the second one uses 4 brushes and anvil is 50g heavier and has double niddle bearing around anvil when the other one has 2 brushes one niddle bearing and also uses motor from 7850 older model so it's actually same impact wrench as older model with additional electric brake. You welcome.

you know what, I really don't want to be that guy. but I have to, I absolutely love my ct8850 I bought no more than 3 months ago. but they are NOT brushless, none of snap ons cordless tools are and I have the 8850, both of the 14.4 volt impacts, the 14.4 impact driver and I'm looking to get the polish prep tool as soon as my rep get it back on stock. what the 8850 has going for it motor wise is it has 4 brushes and its a rather large motor. it's probably going to be a few years before we see a brushless motor from snap on.

I have the Milwaukee 2763, Ive done about 9 timing belt jobs on hondas and it has always removed the crank bolt in less than 2 seconds with a regular deep socket. I love Snap on hand tools but their electric tools are too expensive and not as good as Milwaukee, IR, and Dewalt.

It depends. I have a CT3850 that I still use 14 years later. I have used it as a Mercedes Tech and 11 years in my own business almost daily. With rebuilt batteries, it still pulls stubborn lug nuts and CV axle nuts without a problem. I can only imagine that it has seen 1,000s of lug nuts/bolts over the years. I have an IR7150 for the really nasty stuff.

@stever5887
@stever5887 6 жыл бұрын
Chayton--Tell me, though, are you HOLDING onto to the breaker bar at the time? It sounds like it couldbe a recipe for snapping your wrist. I'm not 6'2" and 275 lbs., so it's a legitimate concern. It's possible that bolt may have been Loctited in place, so how long is your breaker bar; 2-feet? 3-feet long? Are you using a length of pipe over the breaker bar? A few more details, please.
