It’s sickening that people would bash her for it after all she got it as a quick fix due to the immense cyber bullying she faced in 2017. It was so hash that she had all reflective objects removed from her house she was traumatised to look at her reflection and had all size tags removed from any clothing. The nerve and audacity people have is absolutely disgusting. Beyoncé gained the exact weight gain after having twins and nobody bashed her for her weight gain. Looking back Mariah looked amazing and healthy just thicker. • also a point to make was that weight gain was from years of unhealthy decisions/depression and due to her physical trauma she wasn’t able to move much since she had miscarriages and a near death pregnancy at a latter age her body was having trouble recovering. So that also took strain on her vocal folds. Also her divorce and management blackmailing her at the time. People need to stop with the bullying then gaslighting when the victim of their abuse isn’t functioning at their best from it.

I feel Tam though because I felt lost in myself at my heaviest. I didn't recognise myself and found it hard to look in the mirror. I am over 100lbs lighter with a little way still to go. It has taken a year and a half of a complete lifestyle change. There was no magic miracle. The pressure I felt was the pressure I put on myself. So I understand how she feels.

I could eat all junk food and lose 20 pounds, I could eat salads and healthy I could gain 15 pounds. I fluctuate between the same 20 pounds and it sucks!! That’s true I have PCOS and my thyroid issue too but I’m working on it and I’m getting stronger every day. There was a guy who said to me, I should lose 5 pounds. Not 1,2,3,4 but 5 pounds. I grew up with my father and other men saying things about my body and women. Just because I developed quickly. It was actually scary for me because I know men can be nasty. My own uncle hit on me and wanted to do something to me sexually. Black men are always saying things about my body to the point I cover up. But Caucasian men and Latin men don’t make me feel like a piece of meat. I feel beautiful regardless although these people tried to break me down. I am actually happier with my body at 43 than I was in my 20s. I think I’ve aged nicely because I take care of my skin and body. It’s not perfect but I like how I look. However as I get older I probably will get procedures done and I think that’s OK. I’m all for getting work done to make you look younger and feel better about yourself but I haven’t done anything yet.

How overweight was she? I know that sleeve isn’t recommended until a person is over 40 BMI, and if theyre 30-39 BMI its only if they have diabetes or some other complication. Mariah has access to a live in chef, nutritionist, personal trainer, in home gym equipment/pool, and could even pay someone to make sure she stays in track. Her getting a sleeve was waay too drastic. Its major surgery and life altering, you can never go back. Eating will never be the same and youll never enjoy it like you once did. I feel she must have paid off a doctor to do hers bc I don’t remember her being morbidly obese.

Mariah didn't do any surgery, that picture of her on stage is hella photoshoped, she gained a lot of weight after pregnancy, she's plus 50 years old and her bipolar meds made her looks so buffy, if she done that surgery her body would be way slimmer by now, years later and her figure is still the same!

I hope and pray that this does not cause her any health issues. Like Loni said, our bodies change as we age, especially women over 40. Hormones and life can impact your entire body.

I had VGS and it was the best thing I've ever done! I was over 100lbs over weight though. It's a great TOOL to lose weight. The surgery won't do it for you! Educate before you judge. I jumped a hundred hoops to get my insurance to pay for it.

My aunt and her husbands niece both lost over 90 lbs cutting back and NO exercise she’s off her diabetes meds and blood pressure.... you can do it!! With all that $$$$ I would have a dietitian, chef , and a personal trainer for 6 months!!

I think we as women are 10x harder on ourselves and each other than even men are about our bodies. It’s women who set these unrealistic standards. Most men I know don’t care about a little extra weight, stretch marks or cellulite. I said men not little boys. Major difference.
