wow. Stephen Hendry, runner up , 5 times ( and won it also 5 times )! Which means he's been in more UK Championship Finals than Ronnie , but, lost half of them.

I don't think anybody is EVER taking this record from Ronnie. The longevity of his generation (Ronnie, Higgins, Williams) is unprecedented and it seems unlikely that it will be repeated.

He has never won it when the Final was best of 31.

@@Noel-ji8nm what a silly thing to say! He was 16 yrs old the year before the change.

@@j2shoes288 The fact is it is easier to win than previous finals.

@@Noel-ji8nm The number of frames has nothing to do with it. In fact, it's less surprising when a good player loses in a short format match, because they don't have 30+ frames to recover if they have a few unlucky frames or a bad day. Ronnie is the hardest player to beat in a 3 or 4 session format, because even if he has a bad session, chances are, he'll recover and bring his A-game in the other sessions. For the same reason he has won 7 out of 8 world championship finals in a 35 frame format, which completely destroys your statement. Not to mention that the quality of the opponents today is 10 times better than it was in the 80's when UK Championship still had the long format.

@JackSmith-xs8ggHe said easier not easy. Judd often flakes in the triple Crowns. Only 1 WC in 17 attempts!

The UK Final used to be the best of 31, not best if 19.

Nice vid. My only complaint is that listing equal amounts alphabetically doesn't really make sense. Chronological in either direction would be nice (Oldest first because they were first or newest first because the competitive landscape is getting more skilled overtime)

Hendry and Davis won many within a short period, and Ronnie spanned over decades. Both are great in their own way, dominance and longevity

It’s a Tough Call as different era’s & Generations though Ronnie has stood the Test of Time.

John Higgins for Me is the Best Player Ever, Yes he Won Many Competitions including the World’s (lost more than He Won) & his Safety play (and still Is ) World Class.

Joe Davis, Fred Davis, Steve Davis in The 80’s, Stephen Hendry (7 Times World Champion) John Higgins or Ronnie O’Sullivan, to Me these (Along with Jimmy White) are the Best players in the History of the Game.
