ABOUT
The Snooz is a loud white noise machine considering it has a real fan rather than a speaker. But you can reduce the volume if you like as it has 10 volume settings. I also like the flexible tone and timer options. It's one of the more expensive white noise machines, but worth it if you like fan sounds as they are made in real time by an actual fan rather than looped recordings.
Also watch my review of their latest device - the Snooz Breez, which has two fans inside: • Snooz Breez Review: Wh...

Thank you for this review! Been having issues sleeping even with an industrial fan in the room. So I was considering this machine. Definitely purchasing.

great review! you are the first person who actually did what most people want: to hear the darn device! So many reviewed it and talked through the whole thing. one lady I saw played the white noise for 5 seconds. silly. again, great review! agree we should be able to dim the nightlight by pushing a button instead of requiring the app.

Thanks, glad you liked the review! And yes, I think it's kind of essential to actually play the sounds of these devices so people can decide for themselves if it's likely to be the right choice for them. Obviously my microphone and audio editing (if any) will have an impact, but it at least gives an idea of what it might sound like. And when I play the videos back on my computer or headphones, they generally sound realistic.

Hands down the best on the market. We’ve tried them all. We upgraded from the Dohm and will never look back. We use the Snooz button when traveling. Worth every penny!! You can’t put a price on a goods night sleep, so cost was not a factor.

In terms of fan sounds, yes, I also believe it's the best available. The fact that it's so much louder than the Dohms, which are way too quiet to effectively block out a lot of external noise, is the main factor for me. And if you don't want it too loud, the volume control offers much more flexibility than the Dohm range.

I'm very sensitive to noises, especially when it comes to sleeping. My question is if the sound device the way it sounds on the video is the actual sound in the room? Because it's still might be irritating to hear it while trying to sleep. Or is it sounds more like air conditioner?

I think the way I recorded it is quite true to life - especially if you listen with your device speakers rather than headphones with extra bass.

Thanks for this, I was looking into this machine for a white noise substitute for nights when I don't need to run my humidifier. Do you know if the app has any privacy issues? Does the terms of service allow for the sale of your information or data to third parties?
@nosleeplessnights1

You're welcome. First of all, it's definitely a good substitute for the sound a humidifier makes. As for the app, I'm not sure if it has any more privacy issues than any other app! I haven't seen any reports about it, but haven't really looked either. You can find out more on their privacy policy page here: getsnooz.com/pages/privacy-policy

Thanks! Glad you liked it. No, it only has the fan sounds. For rain and ocean you'd need a white noise machine with a speaker and recordings or digitally generated sound, or an app instead.

The indications for calibration are very clear; What I do not quite understand is the following: is the volume that it gives at the end of the calibration, is it adequate in relation to safety according to the size of the room and external noise? is that in my case; I tried it yesterday in a small room; there was little external noise and after calibration it gave me a volume of 7; which seemed very tall and uncomfortable to me.
@nosleeplessnights1
@nosleeplessnights1 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Diana. Honestly, I don't know exactly how they have programmed it, just that it's a feature they designed based on medical advice about hearing and noise levels. I don't believe it has been independently tested, so I can't say either way whether it's a feature that can be 100% trusted to be accurate. So, my opinion would be that if you think it's too loud, trust your gut feeling and perception in the actual room and lower the volume manually. Perhaps think of 7 as the maximum never to go above, but not the only setting you should use. If in doubt, set it quieter and further away from the ears.

Hi there, I've 2 questions: Can the plug be changed with another one (I live in DK and need a EU-plug)? Where is the best to place the Snooze: as close to where the disturbing sounds are (like an open window or next to a snoring person) or just on the side table next to the bed? Thanks!
@nosleeplessnights1
@nosleeplessnights1 15 күн бұрын
Hi! I don't think so. You could email them to inquire about that though - cs@getsnooz.com I think it depends what you want to do. If the sound is coming from outside a window or door, you can place it by the window or door. But it can also work on a side table, so you just need to experiment. For snoring, it's a bit tricky because you can't put it between you if you share the bed. If you share the room, then again, experimenting is the way. But really, it's not easy to block out snoring if it's very close to you.

I wish there was a built in timer (e.g. 90min) when you start it manually (as I often do during the night) without creating a custom schedule in the app. So close to be the perfect white noise machine.
@nosleeplessnights1
@nosleeplessnights1 2 жыл бұрын
Me too! It's a mysterious omission that I hope they rectify in a future version. Still, the timers on the app are so flexible compared to other white noise machines, that the problem is offset significantly in my view. But sure, it would be much better to have a manual timer.
@Borghor
@Borghor 2 жыл бұрын
@@nosleeplessnights1 I agree that the app timers are a nice addition. But... 50% of my use case is to start the unit in the middle of the night (after being wake up by the kids at a random hour!) and in those situation I would like to simply press a button, knowing it will start on a given "preset" for 90 min. Opening my phone during the night to do it is a dealbreaker sadly.

This is a really good point. I got mine when I was living in the US, so the plug issue has escaped me (even until now, as I just got used to using an adaptor even though I'm back in the UK). I'll pin this comment so people in the UK will be aware of it. I'll write to them as well to see if this can be addressed as it seems like a basic thing to take care of if you're selling on a UK store. Thanks for pointing it out😊

It sounds alot like other white noise machines to me? I want a machine for my birds room that doesn't create wind or light.
@nosleeplessnights1
@nosleeplessnights1 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the sounds tend to be quite similar from one device to the next. This one is louder than most others than use an internal fan, which is one of the main sound differences. There is no actual wind that you can feel in the room, and you can turn the lights off if you don't want them.
