Check out Nasa's Tektite Aquanauts - interesting history.
June 2015 - Our trail aka rock crawl started at Great Lameshur bay. We hiked out to Donkey Bight & got in when we found a decent entry.
We snorkled out to the first point where it gets pretty deep & here part of our group turned back. Those that continued on eventually got to a small rock beach in Beehive Cove. We enjoyed a break with some water & snacks then headed back. Probably a solid 2 hours snorkel, no real places to stop and rest other than treading water.

Thanks. I’m surprised I didn’t include a map now that I look back. It was a fun adventurous snorkel

Daniel Clarke I don’t know. There’s another KZfaqr Kym Maddawg - leave her a comment. Or you can try the TripAdvisor forums. I found them helpful before I visited St John.

SoutheastBackpacker I’ll have to check that channel out. Planning a return trip so trying to find some new areas! Do you remember roughly how deep some of the areas where this video were?

Daniel Clarke The bay where we entered the water wasn’t deep - it had a gentle slope. Once we started going around the corner, the water definitely got deeper and remained that way until the rest spot where we got out. I’d say typical was 20-30 feet. We had some in our group turn back when we started getting in that deeper water, as you are fairly committed at that point. Of course I find you are buoyant in the STJ waters so as long as nobody panicked I figured we were fine. Message me if you have more questions. I also have map of the area I put together.

SoutheastBackpacker I figured it was somewhere in that range, not sure if I’m comfortable in deeper than that haha! But thanks a lot for the info. I may hit you up with some more questions. Btw I’ve watched a lot of your videos, great stuff!
