Snorkeling ST. JOHN, USVI Waterlemon Cay - Best Snorkeling on St. John!

6 жыл бұрынA quick look at Annaberg Sugar Plantation and snorkeling at Waterlemon Cay in St. John, USVI. It's also part of Leinster Bay. We heard so many variations on the name of Waterlemon Cay. Some called it Waterlimon, Waterlymon, or Watermelon. It was quite a long walk to get there but very much worth it! We found it to be the best snorkeling on St. John. The reef was beautiful and we saw abundant sea life here including turtles, jellyfish, octopus, and barracuda. Video taken in August 2017.

Beautiful photography! Was this all from Watermelon Cay? How far out did you all swim? What direction? Was all the amazing footage from diving down or from the surface as well?

+Nancy Schindler Yes, all the footage here is from Waterlemon Cay. It’s been a few years so I don’t remember exactly how far out it was but not very far distance if you are a decent swimmer. We snorkeled all around in all directions around the cay. Some was on the surface but much of it was free diving. Thanks for watching! ✌️💚 🐠

+gymcoachdon we left exactly 2 weeks before the first hurricane hit. Irma and Maria did so much destruction. 😞 Have a great time on your trip!!

Hi-really quick- can you stand? Are there spots without coral and are there sea urchins? I'd love to do this but I'm not the best swimmer by any means

+Aim’s Animations this particular area gets deep pretty quickly and to get to the nice snorkeling area here, you have to swim across a deep channel. If you aren’t the best swimmer, you may want to try another area first like Trunk Bay. Or you could get a float device to help you stay afloat. 💚
