Snow and Ice Diorama - Breaking the Ice

It's time to add the broken ice to the diorama. Because I'm modelling a canal, boats will travel along and break the ice along the canal. The area to the right won't generally be broken as the boats are up to 70' long and will travel in a more or less straight line from the bottom of the lock down to the next lock.
Sadly, I've never made it to this lock in ice... this diorama is as near as I may get.

That is a product I have not heard of before for making ice but I can see it works great. Excellent work on the diorama and the tutorial. Thanks for sharing this.

Looks good to me , living here in the southwest America we don't get much snow or ice like that, just up in the mountains but that's not like you show, thanks for the lessons on snow a d ice....Jack

The diorama is looking amazing. I am so tempted to model winter, but all my models of the era I am modelling follow the summer timetable on the LNER during the 1930;s. Looking at what you can achieve and the realistic scenes you can create is slowly convincing me to change tack and model a winter based layout. Looking forward to seeing the final result.

Great video!! Thinner ice often has a crystline pattern in it as it forms. Any thoughts on how to model that?
