Cracking video and comparison, Jon! Pressure sprayers are definitely more effective at cleaning when it comes to these types of products. Would be great to see another one but with a pressure sprayer!👍🏻

Cracking video as always mate, really good quick comparison! I know you have a tonne more experience than me, but I believe that normal pump sprayers work better than the foamers for these types of products! Yes I know you get the dwell times as an advantage but for some reason I just find you get much better results with a sprayer as opposed to a foamer! Could be an interesting video, foamer vs sprayer? I know the majority may call it pointless but you never know, could be a noticeable difference.

Been using the new road rage by HDD for a while, daily. Typically I apply via pump spray 25:1 and apply to the lower parts of the car and then cover the entire car with Autofoam directly after and allow to dwell. I find this to be a hard hitting combo

I have put HDD in my lance at the recommended concentration it was ok, it was a lot better in the sprayer. County Detailing sent me some AG Spritzer sample that I thought did well in my lance. However, both my cars are well protected with LSP and its hard to recreate the same traffic film every time I wash my cars.

Great video as always, The new formulation of Road Rage isn't a high caustic TFR this new version is more eco friendly with green solvents hence the name :) aimed at maximum cleaning power whiles still being economical, Biogradable and very effective at the same time and the price point is another strong viewing :)

Looking at this I was wondering - how close do you usually come to the paint with the nozzle? What would be the ideal dirty-cleaning distance, what would be the safe distance, ineffective distance? Yes, it depends on the specs, but maybe there's some overall recommended number?

One thing to bare in mind is that the camber of the road will cause the near side of the car to have more dirt as that is the side it will drain to. A small point but worth noting I think.

Both definitely work, but I think the degree depends on the chemistry of the dirt buildup. Tfr and snowfoam both used to be alkaline so good for general road debris / salt.. however these days who knows.. citrus degreaser isn't citrus (limoneic acid) any more but generally just a slightly alkaline prewash...

Interesting, but I question how they will do in a snow loam lance. I think the “applicator” matters here as those pump sprayers are much more concentrated than a snow foam lance would be. I watched detailing worlds snow foam vs APC video and thought that if he’d put the apc in the snow foam lance he’d get similar results, as the lance should “dilute” as its applied. I know this is a product comparison, but I think this warrants a test on how its applied to the vehicle; trigger sprayed vs pump sprayed vs pump foamed vs snow lanced! Just a thought.

I use the Power Maxed tfr almost weekly and it removes way more dirt on my car than in your video. To be honest I think your mix was a bit weak, I dilute at 1:10 and drench the car with it, I'll easily use over a litre. At 14 quid for 5 litres it's great value. 👍

what do you think TFR against good foam, = bilthamber? On a waxed and maintained car. I always consider tfr or high caustic prewash only for the ratmobiles. My own. Waxed and 2-bucket-ed often even during winter I find BH all I need. For the summer actually I looked for less power. You might want to check sonax neutral foam.

I feel like you'd be far better off with a garden type sprayer instead of the foam sprayer. I apply a mega-strong TFR to my wheelarches using a 5 litre pump sprayer with a wand and it works a treat, because the liquid can soak into dirt much better than foam in my opinion. You haven't got to pump anywhere near as much either in my experience.

I use autoglanz tfr for very filthy cars, or cars I'm washing for the first time cos it has excellent dilution ratios ( 50 ml in 3 litres of water ). Other than that i use Bilt Hamber surfex hd at 5% by volume. The surfex is as good at cutting but will not harm chrome etc. With the tfr you need to be careful on chrome cos it will stain if left to even partially dry.

@forensicunplugged4295
@forensicunplugged4295 3 жыл бұрын
TFR typically contain some caustic components like phosphates and hydroxides. So in some instances you need to be carefully with them.. on and off rapidly dont let dry etc.. sometimes they can stain plastic effect chrome trim around the windows.. sometimes they can turn bare metal brake calipers white with oxide and promote rusting.. the power maxed one is safer than most. but I would suggest you use bilt Hamber touchless as a prewash. dont worry about foaming levels just trust the chemical tech its non caustic and it melts dirt through clever chemistry, its also cheap.

There is no chemical way of getting it off, use a plastic credit type card to remove what will come off easily and anything that won't come off has to be very carefully sanded. You will scratch the clear coat. Then polish out the micro scratches.

That foamer looks fucking awful Jon; if you insist on a pump foamer, ask Marolex to send you some gawd damned samples! I'm getting to the opinion that foaming a product is completely pointless you know. Providing the product hits the panel at the correct PIR, why and how would the panel know whether it is being hit with foam or not? I'm not convinced on the dwell time thing.

If you're new to Jon's videos you'll know that he's normally very particular about being fair in tests... I think the weather has just played its part as he only had a small window to rinse the products off - given that he had to contend with hail stones! In all honesty though, I don't see what difference it would have made as both products were dwelling in excess of 10 minutes - if they can't fulfill requirements within that time frame then they probably aren't worth buying - you wouldn't want to leave a product on your paintwork that long in dryer/warmer conditions!
