This is video of a loaded 10 wheeler snow plow truck stuck in the ditch up in the hills above the finger lakes in NY. Turned out being a rather easy pull.

You are to far away from the plow truck , just towing it up the ditch , you could have picked his whole front end onto the road ! One time the plow truck I was part of slid sideways of the iced road, 3ft drop ,the truck frame sat on the edge quite leaned over . I walked a few hundred yds to the highway , got a ride back to our shop & got the JD 544 A & a bucket of sand , came back , spread the sand on the road , hooked a chain on the low side picked the truck front end up set it over , it would slide back so we re-sand , 3rd time stayed , so set it further until we had it about 45* angle on the road , then pulled it on out

This is great! So my suspicion was confirmed..you is Eric O’s Brodder. Keep the videos coming when you can and it’s safe to do so. I watch towing programs up here in Canada and there seems to be quite a bit to video these scenes so kudos for doing that...so long as safety isn’t compromised. I look forward seeing more whatever the content. Your countryside there looks great so that in itself will be great to see. Let us know what equipment you are using..wrecker deck, tractor/truck etc. If you have a bit of the talent for videos Eric does, they will be great for sure. 👍 New subscriber here. 👍 👊👋👋 Welcome to the u-tube gang.

At first that looked like Glenn Haven Road east of New Hope (on SR41A) looking over Skaneateles Lake. But Avoca is near Hammondsport or off I-390 therefore likely Keuka Lake and about 1:08 there is the bluff in the lake confirming it. Nice job for the town.

Hi, Daryl! We're at Hack RVA, right now. Your video is really crisp. I get there was a police car keeping everyone that far back. And I know pixel density would have gone to the 24-bit era, if you'd tried to zoom in on the action.

I can't believe he never bent his wing arms. Pushing back and shelving is when it gets us but he had that pretty before he came up it. I plow country roads as well and I set my wing out farther than most guys for this reason i can keep the truck that extra 14 inches away. That being said buddy has a hard road steep narrow and high crown no fun.
@stevenakn17 жыл бұрын
hell yeah pulled him right out. at first I was thinking why the hell did he park so far away haha now I get it.
@sonnysserviceofavoca3907 жыл бұрын
Steven Akn1 I tried to be close enough to do what I have to do. but far enough away that you never have to reposition the tow truck. because if you reposition that means you have to unhook. and you never want to unhook halfway through your pull

I've heard of the horror stories of those cables snapping and taking out everything in its path. The incline doesnt help that....
@teamstr2594 жыл бұрын
I may be wrong but any wrecker/flatbed i drove you weren't supposed to raise the RPM above 1200-1500 1700 tops. I understand why they're doing it. To speed up the hydraulics and make it pull faster. The problem is when you have the RPM too high it causes the cable to wrap the drum awkwardly. It leaves the cable doubled up and knotted. Any thoughts?

Just wondering why so far ahead ? I have done hundreds of ditch recovery’s. What I’m getting at is control if you were closer and angled your truck you would have more control especially if it would want to start tipping. I’m not criticizing just curious Thanks

Beautiful country. I'm like a lot of people who tend to forget theres more to new york, than, new york city. I'm also one of those people who all they now about pulling a vehicle out is hooking a chain to it and go. lot more to it than that.
