I've got one side seized to the shaft like you mentioned. Any recommendations? The pin is stuck too

You’d need to first remove the auger from the blower. I would remove everything out of the free side ( after taking off the free auger make sure you clean the shaft surface) coat the seized side in penetrant from all angles. Let sit For a few hours and apply more then Put the open shaft in a vice. You will need to take the shear pin out first. Probably will need to hammer it out. once the shear pin is out you can try to twist the auger against the shaft. If it’s not budging you will need to add heat.

Hm. Curious… I’m getting both “worm gear” and “worm wheel” for the ‘disk’ part, and then “worm screw” and just “worm” for the ‘shaft’ part as well. In truth, I didn’t look it up before I started shooting. But thanks for the tip. Any uncertainty that can be avoided is always a win. Cheers!

Ah yes. A very stupid addition. The driveway is now fancy concrete and scraping a metal blade across it all the time would damage it. I added those wheels to ensure that the metal auger and metal blade (at the back of the housing) wouldn’t scrape against the exposed aggregate surface. It makes the thing extraordinarily difficult to use in heavy snow and does a lousy job of clearing the driveway/sidewalk. But at least I’m not scratching up my driveway’s finish.

​@@mewooshi have this snowblower and the sliders are metal and catch on everything. I can see why you put wheels. One guy on here used large bearings.

I don’t believe so. According to my research I used the right grease. It definitely had grease in it originally, and gear oil would just run out the rubber bushings by the looks of it. It’s not a particularly well sealed unit.

@@mewoosh shit maybe that is why my gearbox leaks??? I could swear mine said gear oil....... maybe I am completely wrong
