Ebro in the Morning sat down with Isaiah John and Gail Bean who play Leon and Wanda respectively on FX's hit show 'Snowfall' to discuss season 6, their trip to Ghana, their chemistry on camera, and more!
They also discussed their characters, how Isaiah John help saved the role of Wanda allowing Gail Bean to stay on 'Snowfall', what John Singleton meant to the show, next steps in their careers, addressing spoilers, Damson Idris, and much more.

So glad Wanda survived. It's nice to see an addict have a full recovery - even in a work of fiction. It happens in real life and I have so much respect for the people I know who've overcome that horrible condition.

Authenticity is what makes this show one of the best on tv, not the violence, not the killings, none of the ridiculousness. Even stepping out of the environment into a world where there’s a possibility of living a normal life like them going to Ghana is what made it more real than ever. Creativity is everything and Snowfall is top tier in that league.

I agree with you. You get to see the human element of each character. Not just the bad that they're doing or bad that they're going through but you get to see that they're human like anybody else, they love, they hurt, they feel pain, they make mistakes, they make bad choices, they make good choices, the money doesn't override that human Spirit of them that still comes out. The Good, the bad and the ugly. Like in real life, real people. I love that about the show.

That scene where Franklin wakes up in the ice bath and Jerome is walking up on Skullys place after it was shot up by Manboy and his crew with Strange Fruit is playing is one of the greatest scenes in television history

Thanks Leon for saving her 😅One of the best things in snowfall was Wanda’s transition in the drug game, from helping to a, user, to reformed. The show needed a main character that you could examine the impact on their family/ life/ community/ work before an after they stopped the drugs. The scene when she went to her grandmas after Ghana was great

I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed a cast interview this much in a long time. Both fantastic actors and very introspective people. Dope to see people involved in the show actually invested in the cultural significance & real world impact of the subject matter.

Snowfall really is a beautiful show from front to back. I just got done watching the final episode and I’m so mad it’s over that I feel like restarting the whole thing from season one again. Definitely always gonna be in my top 3 favorite tv shows of all time. RIP John Singleton

I absolutely love these 2 and their characters. It was nice to see that Wanda was saved. Gail Bean played the hell out of Wanda!! There is life after addiction. I hope they show her reaching back to help others they should also include Melody and her recovery, reaching back. We all know folks that was out there and today have made a better life for themselves. Those victories should be shown.

17:48 Gail Bean is a real one, very intelligent. They were on the verge of getting into old beef w/ the show and Freeway Rick, and she swerved on them. This is a lot of folks story… “I know the Wanda in my life”… that’s real. Not too many people can hold an intelligent convo and avoid filler words like “uhmm”.

Shiiid she went behind franklin back and didnt listen and when she didnt wanna be under franklin no more and thought she could run a whole operation on her own thats where things started going left for everybody else and thats what made franklin leave everybody in that operation so yeah everything is her fault she should have stayed in here place fr

Spin off: Leon helps Franklin get his life back on track. Franklin becomes a legit leading real estate professional, taking over Los Angeles by storm. Working against gentrification and rescuing our black neighborhoods. Helping get people addicted to drugs off the streets by any means necessary with Leon and Wanda by his side.

It's mad I couldn't get into the show like a year ago or some months back. But then decided to watch it again and then I was hooked and binge watched it. I can really tell a lot of research went into the writing and the actors are beyond excellent. I was emotionally invested the whole time and felt so sad at the ending. This is getting close to the wire territory!

My way of getting into the show is, over the past few weeks and over the duration of the show, I’ve seen an incredible amount of hype and virtually no negative reviews, so I decided to watch season 1-5 recap and binged season 6 Ep 1-8 and I can say this is one of my fav shows ever and I’m SO glad that I waited so long bc now I can go back and watch season 1-5 and it’ll hit like I’ve never seen it, but also I’ve been SO SO captivated by this season. And it felt like everything still had immense weight even tho I only caught up via recaps. We smokin TEDDY PACK OUT THE BWCKWOOD! Rest in PEE nigga!

I binged watched this week. I have tried to watch this show every month since November 2022, and I just couldn’t get into it. So my brother told me to give it a chance so I did and I’m glad I sat still and watched. I’m like Isaiah it started getting really good season 3. When I saw Gail, I’m like Big Bone😂😂😂😂😂

Jerome wasn't an innocent character. He was dropping bodies from the beginning. Lest we forget he beat a black woman to death in the middle of the street early in the season with the whole black community watching and the police. He got what was coming to him. I like Leon and Wanda though. Great character development. Cissy also had good intentions.

As we found out later, Jerome was a Vietnam War Veteran so his innocence was long gone before he went to L.A.
