Having a camera and a mic seems to make all these very odd interactions ok; you've done gone created yourself a safe space. Seriously, who coerces strangers into saying a word that you want said or shakes people when they say some words. Someone will punch you one day and you'll have filmed yourself provoking them.

Took the words out my mouth, this segment is largely pointless and I doubt it even provides entertainment to non-progessive conservatives. I'd hardly call it humour to have someone repeat a word you just said.

He didn't invent this format of public interview. You don't like it because you disagree with his politics, and you're trying to justify it without making that obvious.

Well, with all due respect, people aren't watching this for the 'game'. They watch it for the corny sarcasm - you take issue with his theatrical, tongue-in-cheek game-show persona, but Man-on-the-Street is a very popular format (Eric Andre; Jimmy Kimmel; Billy Eichner) and so is character comedy. you find it "odd" that he "coerces" strangers - what are you insinuating? The point of the show is to interview people on the street, in search of hackneyed phrases. With context, there's nothing unusual about what he's doing. Obviously you're aware of the context; you watched the video. Plus, he grabs one man's shoulder, then puts his arm around him. Nobody else. There is no implicitly violent shaking. The guy even smiles. That's why I find your comment disingenuous. You don't have to agree with the politics to find it witty; I don't.
