Snowy Ride Home from Kissell Motorsports on my Vespa GTS

Kissell Motorsports, located in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, did some service work on my GTS this week. They replaced my cutch assembly, drive belt, bushings, as well as installed two new City Grip tires. I was thrilled at the quick turnaround, and Suzanne drove me the 40 miles or so to pick it up. As you will see, the returning ride home to Bellefonte was filled with a nice mix of wintry conditions. Enjoy!

Watching, my first reaction was to say what the hell were you thinking?! But then I remember the excitement, exhilaration, and sheer challenge to mind, body, and spirit riding in those conditions. Thankfully we have many, many options here for lightly trafficked routes. Hopefully you're done with scooter repairs for awhile!

Admittedly, the snow squalls caught me off guard a bit as the ride over was clear. Just like you said, though, the beauty of the falling snow was exhilarating and my new tires did a great job. My fingers are indeed crossed that it will be a while til the next round of repairs!

Fingers crossed! I have to credit our local moto shop for keeping the GTS going. Having the right gear seems to be the key for winter riding. It took me a few years to get it figured out.

I wanted to go for a ride but waiting on new tire install this week, just had 6000 mile service ✅ over here in NE Ohio. Thanks for a great video no matter how jealous I was!

Congratulations on your 6000 miles! A lot of people never reach that point. Waiting to get your scoot back from being serviced is no fun! Hopefully it won’t take long for you and you can be back out there ASAP. NE Ohio is a great place to ride; I had the opportunity to enjoy scooting around Cleveland last spring. Thanks for the kind words about the video and ride safe!

THANKS. Our roads in France are much narrower and much more saturated with cars than in the USA, hence the interest ( or rather the pretext 😉) of riding a Vespa ! ... See you soon for new adventures !

@@heckadude21 miles the first day riding new 1970 Kawasaki G3TR 90 home, in Michigan, day after Christmas 1969. Gotta love it. I was 15, didn't even feel the snow or cold.

You’re 100% correct and I appreciate your comment. I wouldn’t typically venture out in known conditions like this, but this snow squall was not in the weather forecast. At that point, I made the decision to simply enjoy the adventure.
