Tax maybe higher in Scotland, but you get better facilities, support for students at school, college or university (there's no tuition fees in Scotland if you are earning less than 25k a year), free prescriptions, a more compassionate welfare system, free water, etc. Before I came up to Scotland, I couldn't afford to go to University without being saddled with a lifetime of debt, but up here, I can and it opened a lot of doors for me. Almost everyone I know up here, even people who come from poorer backgrounds are going to college or Uni which is more than what I can say about my friends and relatives down in England. I'm not saying everything is perfect up here, but it is certainly better than what people are getting in England.

I think I would vote for Stephen if I had the option - fantastic standing week after week. Seems like a solid, well adjusted man. I don't know if I agree with his personal politics yet but I think I'll make it my business to find out. I only wish more politicians called out the nonsense for what it is. Being forthright is a missing quality in our elected these days, but he certainly hasn't missed out on his share. Week after week, real questions only to be answered with a shower of shit. I know little about the man, but I sincerely hope he goes beyond SNP party politics and tries to get reigns on the bucking donkey this country is becoming. My cost of living has gone down by £42-45 a week thanks to Sunak the Snake. Decided to turn my heating off completely. £1 per hour for heating my home isn't fuel poverty it is damn expensive. Getting 3-4 hours a heat per day is not worth £42-45 a week that is for sure.
