@@RenegadeJames man shut yo ass up lol I’m a huge fan of The Weeknd and probably knew he existed way before y’all knew who he was. At least I can admit that this isn’t his best work. It’s the least favorite album for me in my honest opinion. Trilogy, Kissland and Starboy is way better than this. BBTM IS A MASTERPIECE. This album good but not great like After Hours.

@@GrandEWN just being honest. A lot of people was complaining that this album was mid 1 year ago when it came out. Honestly I can see what they mean. It wasn’t the best follow up to After Hours but I still appreciate it for what it was.

ok, as for breaking it down, i think he dies at the end of "Take my breath" (pretty explanatory with the name "take my breath" and him dying on the floor only to "wake up" after anothr version of him is in a black void listening to Jim Carrey act as the DJ helping him transition toward the light at the end of the tunnel). It gives me that "gilbert godfrey from Are You Afraid of The Dark" where it was the exact same premise of him as a funeral home DJ calling people to a waiting room where they went to Heaven or Hell. Got off track, but the video premise, you see him wake up in the void so his soul is now in purgatory in this story. So i feel like what I'm seeing happen now is a metaphoric retelling of his mistakes in life or his deal with evil. You see the silver glove/gauntlets attached to the mic towards the end. His hands in the gauntlets are trapped after he puts them in, but they also give him this beautiful light and attractive energy that draws everyone's attention to him (talent and fame). However, he is literally GIVING that enerygy and part of himself to the source (satan/devil/evil). That's why we see the flashes between the beautiful facade and the terrifyingly ugly reality, what fame is thought to be by those who seek it and glofify it versus what it truly is (an idolization of everything profane and of the earth; beauty, power, wealth, vanity, envy and gluttony).

It only took me one more listen through after the live to solidify my love for this album 🖤 And this video was absolute 🔥🔥🔥 His little “ma-ooh” ad lib is so good. That part with the colors on his face made me think of the flower after he licked the frog in Heartless lol

The whole video is an absolutely artistic way of introducing the dawn era as you can say he's out there partying in first 10 seconds and he goes through these trippy things and then that girl in red clothes aged him that is a representation of the "sacrifice" that all his life, he's gonna sacrifice but the fact that production is fast and party type makes us realise that he's not sad or new to making sacrifices.

I listened to the first half of the album and didn't like it very much on first go. Now I am listening to the songs again and already liking the songs more than before. Tbh I don't think it will grow on me as much as After Hours but it's okay. This is a different album with different Weeknd and different style. He tried something completely different. He could have sung the same type of songs with his magical voice but he decided to take risk. I think we should appreciate that. This album as a whole unit is definitely incredible. You'll enjoy the songs way more if you know the context of the album. This album is not for normies who listen to Weeknd only for popular catchy songs like Starboy, Call out your name, The Hills, Blinding Lights etc. It's for Weeknd fans who try to explore nooks and crannies of his music. Just give it more listens fam.

Would love to see you react to Poets of the Fall - Carnival of Rust (their most well known song and the music video got voted as the best Finnish music video ever back in 2006 when the song was released). Truly an underrated band from here in Finland. Also a band with many different sounds all the way from slow melodic songs to full on rock. Although if you want to immediately hear a song that showcases how crazy good the lead singer Marko Saaresto's voice can be (and while his vocal range might not be the most dynamic out there he is an amazing example of what you can achieve by having absolutely perfect control of your vocals especially the raw emotion that his voice is able to convey) then i recommend listening to their song Daze. His vocals on the chorus are something out of this world. I just think that so many more people would love their music if they just ever heard them but since their from Finland it rarely happens. Although many have heard their songs in Remedy's video games Max Payne 2, Alan Wake, Quantum Brake and Control (Also every single reactor i have seen reacting to them has been pretty much blown away by their music so i'm very confident you'll like it) also... also... lot's of deep and meaningful lyrics and wordplay in their songs sorry for the long rant i just really want more people to know about them :D
