The concept of Dawn FM is a radio station leading the listener to the light while waiting in purgatory (according to The Weeknd). The album works best running from beginning to end without stopping. There is a remix of Sacrifice with Swedish House Mafia that has Abel demonstrating his Billie Jean moves on Dawn FM Alternate World that you might enjoy.

Oh wow i had teenagers back in 2015 or so. I heard ALOT OF THE WEEKND. Never listened unless it was on radio but was my fave on radio at the time. (I havnt listened to mainstream radio or watched network tv in over 2 yrs.) I like this song tho. Seems like hes got better things to do with his time than worry about a relationship. He willing to hang out but no strings........ My first time hearing this song too. 🎵 summary.....Friends with benefits. 😎

Okay so this song is on his new album Dawn FM. Jim Carey is the voice you heard in the beginning he narrates the entire album like a radio show host type of feel. With this album The Weeknd is in " Purgatory " This song/video takes place as the start of his purgatory journey which is why you see his youth being taken from him. Everybody will have different views but one thing is true this album is his journey through purgatory as he looks back at his wrong doings, or hes more forced to face his doings from his " Life " on earth. All the fame, temptations, partying, drugs, etc... Me personally when i first saw the chain and shackles here i immediately thought of how addicted he might be to the Microphone and music in general. Its like an addiction he cant escape or walk away from etc... You guys PLEASE react to the REMIX video of Sacrifice HUGE MJ homage in that song/video. you guys have an entire world of content to explore, this newer Weeknd music is nothing compared to the mixtape era. there was a time where a lot of us thought he was a band, there was no pictures of him online, he didnt do interviews or really any kind of marketing as we know it today, it was just the music and the music was something that would engulf you into the story, the emotion, and the moment. todays stuff isn't the weeknd a lot of us started with, this newer stuff is super pop, listen to the old stuff, House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of silence, listen to those three mixtapes in that order and enjoy the ride.

Appreciate how you pay attention to the lyrics in my opinion I believe that’s what sets The Weeknd apart from everybody else … most reactions people just pay attention to the sound and not the words
