What a lot of younger people fail to realize is that throughout the seventies eighties and nineties there were tons of Marvel and DC attempts at making movies and they were all trash... we still loved them though, mostly for nostalgic reasons. the technology was absolutely awful back then... but we made do with what we had. Now we have the almighty MCU and the up-and-coming DCEU

Speed Racer was an amazing Live Action adaption of an anime, seriously give it a watch. It failed in the box office only because people didn't understand the fantasy elements and everyone decided it would suck before anyone ever watched it. for real please watch Speed Racer, the difference is the sheer passion put in to the project.

Two things real quick: one y'all need to stop putting expectations on these kinds of things and just enjoy the ride like Luffy does. 2: at the time of his execution Gold Roger was dying of illness, so no matter how big and strong he may have been he was sickly and shrunken by the time he got executed.... And one more thing: this is not an anime. this is a television show. Had they tried to make it look like anime it would have been another failure... as well as the fact that Oda-san approved every single cast member and every story change and everything they did every step along the way, so this is just as much his creation as the original One Piece manga itself. You young people are far too unappreciative and picky ... you need to learn how to just enjoy things and stop picking them apart by being overly critical.
