With great rain comes great difficulty. Also as an edit. Once I got home to check my book that little field was 2.1 acres so that brings the average up to 41.7 bpa.

Good to see ya making some progress we got done with beans late Tuesday night , helped a neighbor there 9510 ate a feeder house chain , had to drive threw a another neighbors field a 25 ft head doesn't fit well on old gravel roads . We got his last beans out was great . I dropped the head on the cart backed away and it downpoured like monsoon rain . It's tough going here lots of ruts . From turkey creek farms be safe n thankful

Back in 1980 or 81 we had the wettest fall on record, Uncle’s had a New Holland 1400 . Only way to harvest the corn was to put duals on . Water was everywhere longest fall ever a lot of corn had to be picked after it froze up. Good luck. 👍

No need to apologize, I'm surprised you were able to get any video. I understand the stress factor involved with working in the mud. And you add in working in the dark, well I don't know how you did it. Out there by yourself would have sucked big time. I'm sure a lot of us would have understood if all we got was an update after the fact. Thanks for doing the best you could under the circumstances. See you soon in the next one.

No need to apologize. We watch to see the day in and day out issues you face doing what you do. I can't imagine having a profession that is so reliant on the weather. Farmers are a different breed. Great video and praying for a continued harvest. BTW.. I watch a channel called Triple R Farms that is down here in Alabama. They were cutting beans last week that was only about 8 - 10 bushels per acre. The drought conditions were severe in the southeast all the way through growth.

In 2021 we were shelling corn on Christmas Eve cause the conditions were so wet we had to wait for it to freeze. Needless to say I was ready to get out of the combine that night cause it was still a muddy disaster and the corn was getting hit bad by the wind so it was a matter of saving the crop before more of it blew over.

How about a set of custom axle spacers. Like a section of well casing or heavy wall tubing with a flange on each end. It would bolt to the wheel flange and hub on the combine with longer boots, and then bolt a regular rim and tire to the outer flange. I'm expecting that a set of combine rims and tires might be easier to find than clamp on duals (parts machine at your uncles?). The only concern i have is the inside rim holes getting wallowed out, as I assume they are meant to have tapered style wheel bolts in them.
@Oliver66FarmBoy8 ай бұрын
Clamp on duals are easy to find.

@DonWelter8 ай бұрын
Wet conditions are always a challenge. Hate to see you having to track things up. We try to avoid it ourselves. Don't mind so much if it's just some odd corners or a swale that lays wet. All things considered on yield, for the year we've had sometimes you take what you get and move on. Your beans are clean and standing well...always a plus at harvest time.
@Oliver66FarmBoy8 ай бұрын
You’re not going to avoid tracking up fields this year.
