tips from a good virtual solver (i have a 3.42 second solve): the keymap layout is in the about page if you click on the cstimer logo and scroll use no animation by going to the tool settings and changing the VRC base tps to infinity once you get used to them enough, its just faster there are a bunch of optimized algs for virtual cube as doing double moves are surprisingly slow, they are pretty wack though like for ua perm you press 5 and 6 to do M2 and then . for the M' so you dont move your left hand back

My experience is kinda opposite. I can't solve the cube when it's hot weather, because my hands are constantly sweaty from the heat. So the cold weather is good for me, because my hands are dry from the cold. With dry hands, it is much more pleasant and faster to solve the cube

Nice! Virtual cube is so much fun. A while ago I had an injury and couldn’t do physical cube solves. I picked up virtual, and because the keybinds mimic finger tricks I was able to improve really fast. I even made a virtual FTO because the hardware is so bad. Honestly virtual is a pretty good skill to have because you can do solves without needing a cube and it is honestly a lot of fun.

This is actually really interesting because there are very little finger trick limitations. Algorithm speeds can just be determined by the amount of turns instead of finger trick optimization. I might start training on this just as a fun challenge.

Hey Dylan, loved the video! I just think you could improve your times in the virtual solve by not making some moves or cube rotations that are only required if you are solving the real cube. For example, any cube rotation is not necessary because doing a F turn on the virtual cube is just stroking another letter. And algorithms need to be move efficient, and not fingertrick friendly.

I think for a video in the future you should use hand gel in stead of lube and have a race with olor and see which one is the fastest lube or hand gel

This may be a good way to train people to stop using wrist turns. I didn't know this existed, I shall try, since my cubes still aren't here. That Gan mirror is causing way too much delay.

A more accurate turn speed would probably be your speed on stenography, or shorthand. Although difficult to learn it’d be much closer to how fast your turning speed on a normal cube is.

Hey Jperm, have you ever considered making a video about you solving every WCA puzzle? (Btw I know you said you are not solving a square-1 again so you don't need to solve that).

Thanks for the entertainment. I have the same issue with cold hands even though I live in the American south :p. But I bet your cold hands happen when outside is like -20 F while mine are at like 50 F.
