Garter Snakes are some of the best pet snakes in my opinion. I bred a my Thamnophis sirtalis parietalis this year, and Ruby had the BIGGEST litter/clutch/clutter of garter snakes I have ever had! The genus Thamnophis should be more popular as pet snakes!

Absolutely amazing and congrats 🙌 what’s the asking price I’m definitely interested in a female or possibly a pair??? Keep up the great work bud and looks like you’ll have your hands full for awhile. Garters can be fun to get started eating but you gotta love it when they take the first thing you offer. Well wish you all the best and hope they all do great and find good homes.

Or would you be interested in possibly doing a trade? I have a few captive bred by myself Savannah monitors and red eyed crocodile skinks and few other critters possibly having babies this year.

A mix of minced pinkies and earthworms, my go-to as a first food for garters. They usually go for it on the first feeding, but perhaps I was a little early this time.

Daaaaaang. I was herping the other day and was thinking so maybe you can help me with this answer? When a garter snake gives birth, because they don't lay eggs, do they just like. Pour out all of the babies over the course of a quick span? Or does one or two come out slowly over time and so on ?

It probably varies somewhat, but Ruby seemed to take a few hours at least from start to finish. 👍🏼

That’s what I was going to say I’ve luckily seen it happen in the wild twice and in captivity few times. I’ve seen it fast as lil over an hour and seen it take all basically before she had last one come out. For some reason it seems the last ones to come out are usually still burns from what I’ve witnessed.
