tbf, Freminet's being driven by orders started way before Arlecchino. The previous director literally made Freminet think as long as he follows orders without question, he will be spared from physical and mental abuse. Not to mention threatening him that his mother will be in danger if he doesn't do what they say and keep saying he is useless and abandoned so now he thinks he is not useless as long as he follows orders. But still yeah, Arlecchino's opposite approach to these orphans really had some good brainwashing. Now Freminet follows order not out of fear but out of revere to her which is actually more efficient in the long run. 😭

@@zurieldred4101 I didn't know that about Freminet's story :( I'm still wary about Arlecchino though. Everyone seems to call her "good mother" while she basically runs an orphanage focusing on changing children into weapons, telling them this is the only good place for them, and sending them for dangerous missions. Yeah, she saved L&L, but I won't call a morally good person any time soon.

The way he wish he can just be a numb and emotionless machine so that he can do the mission efficiently and how he thinks he doesn't care what the consequences of orders given to him (hinting he was scared to be hurt and abuse repeatedly to the point he doesn't care if he hurts others in the process). The way he is looking at other children who are carefree and doing what children should do while him accepting he is nothing but a weapon and machine without future. 😭💔 I do agree that I do not trust Arlecchino. She is so unreadable that you don't really know her motives. Her action no matter what is definitely not pure as well even if they say it's for the sake of many or others. She is complicated and so far not be trusted since everyone's opinion of her is through their own perspective and she can be lying to both sides.

Well she does often listen, in order to get information for Arlecchino, for use in things like blackmail or sabotage. It's not out of the question that she'd try and make you feel comfortable with her, to give your info to the enemy.
