My old man was a logger but just with a cable skidder and no big yarders. I can't tell you how many times he came home bloodied or with his false teeth busted from a limb coming through or rolling the machine. He was a tough SOB til the cancer took him.

I am sorry to here about your dad that my dad was a logger with a cable skidder and he got hit by a tree but no one said logging was easy

Words fail to describe how terrorizing it is to have a yarder or line loader lean over. In one picture there it looked like a lunch box on the ground ... gave me chills to imagine the ride that operator had. Not a career for the weak in courage.

A few wild rides indeed. Not the intended use for big machine's, Gravity still reigns ...... Quite the very expensive subject, when big machines break or fail. Interesting video👍👍

@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin My closest one in a truck was in a 40 ton Cat truck hauling strippings (dirt). Loaded to one side and dumping on sidling ground I came up with the bed and over it flopped. I thought 'THIS is how it feels to turn this thing over' and hit the bed down but the blasted thing stayed flopped over till the bed set down on the frame. Rigid frame truck. I moved around till I could get the heavy side on the upper side and that was the last time of that. I knew better but did it anyway. I hauled with a frameless trailer for 2 or 3 weeks, stockpiling at night with no lights before I was told I couldn't do that to which I replied i had been DOING that and it wasn't a big deal IF the trailer was flat. Didn't even let the air off the tractor suspension. Long days on a dozer or track loader teach you where a flat place was. Goofy things I did. LOTS more but not for here and pow. GBWYou, Ed!

@@lewiemcneely9143 fun times... LoL. Came close to tipping a truck.. bed started up, got above the guides and shifted over a foot or more.. couldn't move, had to hook a cat to the box so I could pull out. Had another one in a field, all the tires on the right side were off the ground. Two tractors and an hour later, it was up on flat ground.. then there's the skidder, dozer and excavator rides...👍😁🤪😜🙄

@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin We are blessed to still be here. I did all my skidding with a dozer but made up for it with a lot of other stuff. I've been in your situation and have had to have help and have given help too. The way to make a good operator is for them to get into places they never want to be again. Least wise that's the way it worked with me and I had to do some thinking so's I wouldn't be sunk the 2nd time in the same place. Always something.

I just don’t get what happened with the last machine. Why was one of those big line loaders off the road? Let alone 100’ plus, flat on its nose.

Probably while swinging heavy with the grapple yarder and broke a bottom boom foot mount from side swing forces , and it smeared the boom across the cab. That's my guess
