The 0-60 paradigm has shifted so much that supercars get beat to 60 by Kias and Hyundais. There will always be quicker cars, but the i8 has a unique presence that is almost unmatched. I have had an i8 for 6 1/2 years and I still look forward to every drive - and It still feels quick to me. The torque to weight ratio is actually quite high. Btw, the displacement of the 3 cylinder is 1.5 liters. Glad you appreciate the car, it’s special.

Yeah, I feel like paying attention to only 0-60 speeds are like saying a drummer is better because they have higher bpm etc. But even though, say, Lars Ulrich isn't the most amazing drummer, he still has created the sound that is distinctly Metallica and made it the biggest metal band in the world. Tldr, it doesn't need to be the top of the line spec to be amazing. Performance on this car still keeps up with a M4 Competition. It's decidedly quick, just not hypercar quick haha. Which, to be honest I'm not sure if many people deserve the privilege of driving a bullet.

I think people really underestimate just how powerful of a Technological Automotive Designer and Auto Manufacture BMW is! And they (BMW, Rolls Royce and Mini) are becoming more advanced as we go into the future!

You have laser lights which is an option. This is the reason you say the replacement is 8k. I think for the standard headlights its massively cheaper. Great vid, im on the fence about getting one...

What after market mods did you do to your i8 as it doesn't look the same as stock. I see side skirt extensions, front lip spoiler, etc. Can you share the mods and where you got them?

I rented one as well; ended up purchasing one 30 days later. That was ~18 months ago. I still love the car, drive it daily and it does not get old. 👍

@@KGBPov Can not agree more! Especially when it’s a much different car than your use to driving. I used Turo to rent one about 30 mins away for 2 days so I can experience kind of day to day for a couple days. Obviously it won me over….lol. Excited for you to join the i8 family! You’ll love it!

@@autohitman My jaw dropped reading this comment because of how relatable! I also rented one off Turo for 2 days (my birthday + a day) it was about a 35mi away pickup as well. I just saw one yesterday in the same color around the same area :D Always gets me excited when I see one
