I’m honestly surprised you still don’t carry shower steamers! I remember your earlier adventures in making them and the accidental sitting in the the down flow 🤣 they are really such a quick make and especially in the colder months, I can’t make them fast enough! Definitely one of my winter best sellers!

This was suuuuch a great q&a and I really appreciate it! Thank you for answering my questions! Everyone’s questions! I know it was a lot for you, oh my goodness but when I saw how long the video was I was thrilled lol. Got me a drink and some chips and salsa a settled in 😁 I love your honesty, especially about things that are tough. Anyone going into any kind of business needs to do so with their eyes wide open, and you’ve always been very up front about the work that goes into it. But you also highlight how great it can be if one is willing to put in the work. I loved the outfits too! I hope you guys had a great time at the mystery theater! 🥂Here’s to growth, success, and a whole lotta fun in this new year! ♥️

Yay, you guys answered my questions! Your insights are great. Thank you for giving them to us all! Aside from your answers to my particular questions, I really like the way you described getting great ideas from other business owners. I did that with my business in a different field, and I never looked back! I truly believe it's been a driving force behind much of my success over the past 3 years. I love that you're providing that resource to others. 😁

I haven't had a bad experience vending in the months of February or March. I actually made 50% of my yearly income in Feb/Mar events. I think it's based on the area of the world you're in. I live in Louisiana and our weather isn't as cold as other areas. With that being said people tend to start coming back outside and being active late Feb, early March. It's actually one of the nicest times of year here. It starts to heat up in April and feels like summer on May 1st. By the time actual summer rolls in, it's unbearable and we're looking for indoor events by July. I think people should start looking at what their area offers and see how busy certain seasons are, then plan accordingly with money they made during peak season.

I don't use honey in my products unless i find a good vegan honey. But i do use sugar in my soaps and it makes a beautiful bar of soap along with other things that i add. But my products are all organic and vegan friendly. But the advice they are sharing here is golden. By starting off small and taking baby steps until your clients start building up. Soaping and making body care products is a lot of fun. Make sure you are having fun doing it.

This was great to watch. Thank you for taking the time to answer all those questions. I have been in business 10 years but growth has been so so slow. I'm new to KZfaq and would LOVE to get in front of the camera but that's intimidating and it's loud here with no space! I live in Oregon now but I also grew up near Seattle! I didn't know that about Cale. Love your channel!

UK - no, it's not that we have to *patent* our recipes. What we are required to do is to submit each recipe to a chemist and pay for a Cosmetic Product Safety Report (with hydrous products this includes stability and microbial challenging, but for anhydrous products the chemist just needs to see the recipe). In fact, I don't think it would be possible to patent a straight forward recipe as there's nothing novel about it (in the same way you couldn't patent a cake recipe). On another note, thank you so much to the person that asked about pet hairs! I manufacture in my dining room, which is also the room where the front door is (small UK house) so it's unavoidable that the dog has been in the room, although she's kept out during manufacture and I try my best to keep the hair around down. My soaps are checked at every stage of production and still the occasional one makes it as far as my stall before I spot the hair trapped between the soap and the packaging! Thank you for the time you spend sharing your experiences to try and help up and coming business owners.

Hi. Just read your alt text answer. This is in regards to US. Basically, it put Missouri River Soap out of business by the time they paid all the legal fees and court costs. Hope this isn’t true in Canada because the US courts did not even allow the changes before they sued her.

Customer relations… I have zero problem saying “I might not be for you. But suzie over there might have what you are looking for” As soon as I let them know I’m not interested in playing into all the “suggestion of what I should do to get them to buy from me” all of a sudden they buy. Or they leave. But when I say this is who I am as a business, I need to stick with it. For example, I don’t make goats milk. People want me to make my product with goats milk. That’s not what I do.

Thank you soo much for this amazing info. After doing a few months of research...toons of youtube videos, I decided to try my 1rst batch in July 2023. Thinking that I would just make soap for my family and Christmas gifts, I am now hooked. If one is only doing it as a hobbie and hooping to just sell to buy mire supplies, does one need to be registered, and apply with health Canada, specially if won't be making a profit? Do you get registered right from the start?
