When I make Cold process soap, I use ice or frozen milk quite often. I love that the fumes are minimal to none at all. When you want a milk soap, this is a wonderful way to achieve it. ☺️

Great to see you back Tiggy. I'd love to see you make Sparklebox again, it's such a lovely-looking soap. I like this new one too, very autumnal colours. I've seen the ice method used a few times on KZfaq, but nobody seems to use it regularly, no idea why though.

You can also use an ice bath to start cooling down the lye solution, while melting your oils!

Such a beautiful soap! I hope the scent comes back thru the cure. Looking forward to your blogs.

I agree the ice is a game changer. I was taught here in Melbourne by a soap factory to use ice instead of water especially when making large batches. No fumes is a winner for me 🎉

I'm at the point in the video where your stirring your lye solution. But wanted to comment about the things i have in my freezer right now just waiting to become lye solutions LOL goat milk, watermelon and aloe that i had blended and froze separately. Some i just poured into freezer bags but some i actually blended them poured into ice cube trays then when they were frozen i put them into freezer bags, that way they would be easier to weigh out for soapmaking.

I use this method for years with my goats milk. I turn my goats milk into the ice and pour my lye very slowly over the frozen goats milk.

I know Royalty soaps uses ice cubes to make lye water because it reduces the fumes. I do the ice cube method when I make milk soaps. I put the milk in ice cube trays because milk scorches so easily.

Etsy is easy to use for customers but i understand every maker who dont want to sell there because of the fees. I happily swaped over to your website 😊

Yes, I love Etsy and am a customer myself but I'd much rather support a maker directly. Its a good starting point and I've always used it as such but time to move on now. Thank you so much for your support xx

I use the ice bath method when making goats milk soap or mothers breast milk soap, keeping everything as cool as possible. Would you do another micamoma review on their micas please? I purchased, and love all the ones you recommended last year. I live in Australia. TIA

Hi, check out the Soap Gals youtube she spoke about the ice method several years ago. I have used this method for about 2 years. Once you use this method you won't go back. Cheers from Australia.

Hi Tiggy! Have you thought about natural deodorant in a stick or tube made with magnesium hydroxide? I’d love to see it.

Hi there! Do you mind if I ask where you got the multi-bar cutter? I went to 'For Crafts Sake' and they have retired! Yay for them! Nurture discontinued their cutters and, now, I'm sad. On a side note - you're so lovely and I enjoy watching! Love your fragrance descriptions - it's like you're feeling the scents. 🙂

I got mine from For Crafts Sake. There are lots on Etsy. I'm actually looking for another wider one so if you find anywhere let me know!

Goats milk I havt to use ice
@pollyh7137 Жыл бұрын
I always use ice - 50% of the lye water. Takes forever to cool down otherwise and I can't stand the fumes. Being in Yorkshire I don't need to use distilled water yay!
@chsrlottetaylor580411 ай бұрын
I do the hot method it does save time but if they are too hot then what happens is my frangrance oil ceeses up on me ,,so if I let it melt my hard oils by the time it's ready it's still too hot ,,anyway that's my story.

Adore your soaps, l have been using ice cubes in my soap making, but making my own from distilled water, l always thought normal tap water wasn't a good idea, due to too many chemicals?
@futureprimitivesoap Жыл бұрын
These that I used are from the supermarket, but I use tap water that is filtered and always have. Our water is perfectly fine to use here x
@thechandlersrose10 ай бұрын
@@futureprimitivesoapYeah, here in the US our water quality isn't very quality in lots of areas. Y'all over there have much better water quality I've seen on-line. A lot of visitors to the UK always marvel that you all can drink straight from the tap. I am officially jealous 😂. Have been enjoying catching up on your videos. Keep up the great work.😊
