Dude, I am so much in agreement with you. Strong whistle is SO important. In a couple different games on a two man system I've seen all the players nag the other guy and leave me alone. My theory is it was because my whistle was stronger and his sounded like my 4 year old daughter. Lol

That's funny.

The purpose is so that you do't confuse the players as to which referee is blowing their whistle. I love that idea. I bought mine at Dicks 8.99 and I also got a Fox 40 on a field trip. Drum Majors for Marching Bands should use a pealess whistle.

There’s a good section in the wonderful internet document watchandwhistle.org that discusses whistling. The author remarks that you are in fact speaking with your whistle, saying things like “play,” “STOP!,” “half-TIME,” “wait,wait,wait.” This always made sense to me, and is a handy way to explain what you’re looking for. And I love my pea whistles. They’re expressive- not the cheap ones that come in a New Ref Kit of course; they’re trash- but the Acme Thunderer 660 or Balilla Micro are fine options, and priced under $10. Finally, I never keep both whistles linked together. Years ago, I slipped following play and put my hand down in the mud. Yuck. My spare goes in the pocket.

Hy there. I find your refereeing content informative. I have a question, please. How old is too old to start refereeing to end up being FIFA referee? I'm in South Africa 🇿🇦 and I have passion for refereeing, but the problem is my age. I'm 28 years old.

28 isn't too old if you work hard and dedicate a lot of time working your way up through the local levels. It takes time but if you have passion there's no reason why you can't go and become a FIFA referee.

Hello sir . 1.If match was tie then how many times to need blow the whistle ? 2. If match is tie and going to panelty shoot out what is refree signal. And how many time need to blow the whistle ? Please reply me sir

@Legend - To end the game I do to shorter length blasts and then one long blast. Half time I do two medium length blasts. If the match is a tie and going to kicks from the mark, I would do the same whistle combination that I would do for half time. Great questions Legend!

@@soccerrefeducation after tie the match what is hand signal for panelty shootout. And how many times to blow the whistle sir ?
@Dimewise_R Жыл бұрын
@@legendalpha9554Extra time, i point the center spot while doing 1 long, short pause then 2 fast and short like a ripple. Kicks, I wave the match with one hand to signal “full time”.

Do you ever use other frequencies of Valkeen? That is, do you blow the whistle with the bottom or top holes closed? Can you tell me a good situation to use such a lowe frequency tune ?

This is a thing? Didn't know, explain?! Thanks.

@@soccerrefeducation Holes are provided at the top and bottom of the Molten Valkeen whistle. These can produce two tunes with different frequencies of 4.15kHz and 3.67kHz respectively if each hole is closed. This is a much lower tone than what they normally produce (when no hole is closed). Maybe that's why I haven't seen anyone using them. The company says this option is provided to indicate different restarts. Hope you try it and reply me. Thank You, Sir 🤝
