Darwinism refers to the theory of evolution proposed by Charles Darwin in the 19th century. According to Darwinism, species develop over time through natural selection - essentially, survival of the fittest - and that the fittest individuals go on to produce offspring that inherit their advantageous traits. Social Darwinism, on the other hand, is not a scientific theory, but rather a sociological and political belief that was popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Social Darwinists believed that the natural selection process should be applied to human societies, and that the fittest individuals and groups should be allowed to flourish, while weaker groups should be eliminated or marginalized. Thus, while Darwinism is a scientific theory that played a major role in the development of modern biological science, social Darwinism is a more dubious philosophical and political idea that has little scientific merit.

Though not social Darwinism, there are instances where RC used appeal to nature I think - mentioning Pareto principle (though i am also not sure whether it is valid in economics) to justify economic inequality is an appeal to nature, right?
