i always either turn off recommendations or try to manage my watch history such that youtube recommends more videos that are meaningful to me. thankfully havent seen any of those types of "tiktok guy asks tiktok girl out" videos floating around my feed

Dude, you've really been helping me with my self improvement progress. You probably won't see this but I just want to say I've been loving your videos, I've been here since your minecraft videos!

The sad thing is that the people who look critically at things don't even engage with that kind of content, let alone waste their time to comment on it. So the ppl engaging with it are in closed echo chamber and it's concerning (but not surprising to me at all) how BIG those numbers are.

yes this. theyre stuck in an awful feedback loop

That's a good point. Hopefully making content like this will make people wake up a bit.

It's absolutely crazy seeing how much tiktok and Instagram have shifted everyone's views about literally everything within only the past few years. Sure, media in general has been doing that for decades, but it seems as if our generation is getting exponentially worse at deciphering what is actually true from manufactured and filtered truth.

Yeah I guess most people just don't care, it's troubling.

It's scary how many people treat ticktock or something like that as serious information sources and just trust it blindly

I hate how black and white this side or that side sometimes social media can be. When I go to events and talk with people in real life most people are pretty open to having conversations with topics they don't agree with. Most adults will just laugh it off or try to see your point even if they don't agree. It's easy to pick sides judgementally it's good marketing. So nowadays I put a filter to block content/channels that promote this sort of stuff cause I don't want to fall down that rabbit hole.

I lost my gmail 8 months ago, I was too reliant on technology and never had a list of the channels that I liked in my mind, I feel like I have gained back a huge chunk of the old gmail by rediscovering this channel. your latest video that I knew was about building a mincraft house with no plan, and I gotta say your channel sure has shifted a lot from minecraft to irl content

You are right dude, social media makes us much polarized. Social media, and people in social media in general, makes these kind of "overgeneralized/overgeneralization content" to make everyone think, for example, that all right-wingers are racist and hate women, or that all leftists hate white people and want to kill everyone or rape kids, and this kind of stuff. That's the problem, they take extreme examples and make these extreme examples look like the norm of society. It creates a mentality where everyone treats anyone on the "opposite site"" as a mortal enemy without even knowing who the other person is. It reminds of Thorfinn from Vinland Saga, on the famous "I have no enemies" scene, where he asks: Why are you guys wanting people that you have met today, you don't even know who they are as a person. What kind of grudges do you hold against each other, if you met just a moment ago? Why all this fighting?""

I could be wrong but it sounds like you have a bad algorithm feeding you bad content. I watch a lot of shorts and although I have seen some street interviews have hardly seen any of the interviews like that. Try to skip the videos immediately that have the girls that are being stupid, and it ends up making your algorithm not better so you don't have to see that stuff.
@TheSilverShadow17Ай бұрын
Knowing that the KZfaq algorithm is quite random and throws random shit at everyone, it's kinda difficult to control what it does at any given moment.
