This song and video are such a beautiful metaphor of the human struggle between light and darkness. How we try to resist darkness, yet we are almost addicted to it. We know where the darkness will lead us and we feed it willingly... only to fight it back soon after. And then, the dream ends and we wake up realizing we're made of both principles and we can't change it.

Actually really it must be a huge puzzle finishing and it's terrible. I feel like the timeline goes - Empress - Villain - Filthy Pride I love how mysterious and artistic Richie's music videos are. You can interpret them in whatever way you see fit, they can have different meanings, the visuals are amazing... The black paint is illness, his darkness, he cannot help it, not just yet. We are all sick to a degree, with darkness inside. We hurt, and we hurt others. This is an expression of his darkness, but also his light. It is beautiful. The melody is heavenly. True art comes from the soul. Had you not know anything about his personal life, you would have appreciate this song. I have heard about what happend. And i appreciate it even more, he is barenaked here. Showing everything to the world.

So basically the storyline is out of order.. This was part 2, Villain part 1 and Filthy Pride was the finale. His "EMPRESS" Is his darkness, depression or dark thoughts which take him over completely and in turn he becomes the "VILLAIN" and hurts those around him. But his "FILTHY PRIDE" prevents him from learning his lesson with the first girl. And in the end he ruins Jaclyn and submerges her in his filth and blackness, and her white handprints symbolizing her touch and attempt to change him, but in the end, his touch alone covered her and hers faded back to black. .

I’m in love with this music, the art, and all the mysteries and conspiracies. My new obsession in life is putting together the actual story to understand and unravel the tale and legend behind Social Repose. Because truthfully this story makes an epic legend and legacy. This is just the beginning I feel of more tragedy, rise, falls, and obstacles in life to overcome, but in the long run it’ll be worth it I feel.

Devin V I would totally agree, but there's one major flaw in that theory... Alexis doesn't have even 10% of the beauty (inside and outside) that Jaclyn has. Then again, he's pretty vile, so it's possible he sees beauty in Alexis -- I just find that impossible to see, but your theory sounds pretty spot on.
