Soft and Delicate Dutch Pour Painting with Finger Swiping

There's just something about adding #fingerswiping details to your most delicate #dutchpour painting to really give it that extra special touch. You just gotta #,gowiththeflow my friends!
I have a love/hate relationship with #prussianblue. It's a beautiful color! But when it is dries, the solid areas look black. Also, the paint is completely#transparent so if you forget to paint the edges, the white of the #canvas can show through in some very unpleasant ways. That said, when blended with other colors, Prussian Blue is GORGEOUS! I mean, just breathtaking!

Prussian blue is one of my favorite colors because of its transparency and the way it comes to life when mixed with other light colors.

This one is so beautiful. I was painting earlier in blues and purple. I had a grand vision. It turned out so bad. OMG. So sad. Last year I did a gorgeous one in dark purples and golds and then my external HD crashed and the footage from it and a few other paintings also are just stuck in there...still never seen by anyone but I hope I can have the footage professionally retrieved at some point. So annoying! Anyway, this one you did here reminds me of two paintings I've done in purples: One is stunning and I still can't show the footage, the other is a wash and I was doing it just today. 😪 Oh well. Seeing yours helps me feel a little better. It's very beautiful. 🥰🥰

You do wonderful work! every one of your paintings looks awesome, but the best part is your teaching. You really have a gift for explaining what works, what doesn't, and how to fix it. I've been doing swipes and using much thicker paint a la Jessica Winterstrom. Love that but I needed a change. So, you are my new Guru! One question: have you tried using house paint in your base? It cells wonderfully but most of the other colors sink. thanks.

I haven’t used house paint in my Dutch pours. I like to use the exact same mixture for the base and the layered colors.

Ваша работа как всегда чудесная! Попробовал сделать подобное ( из прошлого видео , на чёрно - белом фоне ) и удача!!! получилось и мне понравилось очень, но через 2-3 часа, когда начала краска подсыхать её стало разрывать, много разрывов.... Так жалко стало. Пришлось смывать с холста краску и сушить. Но я попробую ещё раз!!!! Благодарю Вас!!!

Благодарю за участие! Мне показалось , что белая краска,я её смешал и сделал бежевой светлой, было довольно густой и вязкой.Возможно от этого?@@beccaharkinsart

Could you do like different colors series? Like a blue series then a green series so forth and do several for each series.

I am using all opaque colors i though it was wise to not get too fancy with colors and just stick to basics. I generally put too little i don't know how much to put down and becca told me to use artist's loft so i have. trying to get consistency right is frustrating me to the point of giving up. I don't mind scraping i just want to have the flow and mixing of colors once in a while but i haven't done one right yet. So i'm out of ideas. Now i'm trying the chain method and a lot of my paints are disappearing so i make them a tad thicker and i'm working on small canvases like 5 x 7 and using the smallest blower and i don't know how much that is playing a role. I'm on a budget so affording the paint is an effort i did see some canvases on sale i maybe could get and i need to get a hair dryer. I also use the formula that the left brained artist uses with glue mixed in the paint i have watched his videos and they come out beautiful but mine don't

I am sorry I think I might have confused you. I suggest using Amsterdam for the base color. Artist loft tends to eat the colors.

Oh god becca i just bought a bunch of artist's loft titan. white and mixed it. Ok so at least this gives me something to try that is different. I hope it's not too expensive because i can't put too much more money into this if i am not successful in some capacity.@@beccaharkinsart

I am really struggling still can't get consistency right. Some sink into base which i'm thinking either i thin the base a bit or thicken the colors more. I got bad news becca and then i got more bad news so it doesn't help that not getting the consistency right is so frustrating i'm not having fun because of it. I just want to give up. I keep scraping and trying and i don't know what else to do. :( But this turned out beautifully.

I had mine sink a lot. One thing I learned is to ensure you're not putting too much paint on the canvas. Of your base paint, I mean. Also looking at the levels of transparency. Transparent paint will disappear. Usually try to put something a tad more opaque down first. But that's just me, that's what I've learned. Hang in there. I've been painting for 3 years and I'm still learning and scraping 😅

I find the best paints for the base are the ones that have the most density.
