I think I’d also call it the Disney princess effect-the proportions are very similar!

That’s actually perfect! That’s personally how I would describe myself as a soft gamine as I often joke how I could’ve been a Disney princess had I gone to the callbacks after I auditioned

Yes, I've been called a Disney princess more times than I could count, usually by complete strangers! I have long red hair, a constant smile, and a soft gamine body, so I definitely think this could be called the Disney princess effect as well

I thin it happens because sometime the face and the body don’t match exactly, in your face you can have some features that maybe don’t go along with your body type

It’s does look overwhelming and doll-like, which is a particular esthetic. I think it’s because most women want to look more womanly and “sexy” as opposed to bringing out their cuteness. They look great, but have a Disney princess look.. which a lot of women wouldn’t want.

I'm a Soft Gamine. I have naturally wavy soft brown hair. Most of my life I had really long hair up to my waist. Lately I shortened it to arm lenght. I look in both looks but long hair give off this fairy-like vibe and shorter hair make me look more sexy/womanly and professional.

I consider myself a SG and long hair suites me, but I think it looks best when it's slightly tousled or wavy. If it's straight, it makes my proportions look off. I do like it when I have short hair, but I miss what I can do with long hair, so I always waver between going short or keeping my hair long.

I'm a soft gamine as well and love my hair a medium short length with soft bangs! I think investing in some extensions would be a good answer or solution!

I think the long hair looks lovely. It does make them look younger than they probably are though, which can be a possible issue

I just want to say that this music is a VIBE and I love it. Don't change it up anytime soon. 😂 As a mid-size SG, I feel like I need a bit longer of hair at the moment. Shorter hair draws attention to my extra weight.

I consider myself to be soft gamine and have always been drawn to shorter hair. A few years ago I got some clip-in extensions to get an idea of what I would look like with long hair and I thought I looked almost doll-like, it definitely seemed to overwhelm me. However, I think the ladies you featured look really nice with the long hair, even if I think they look a bit better with short hair.

Agreed! If SG are going for a doll/mermaid look long hair is perfect! But if not, they should try shorter hair

personally for me my hair looks best when its a bob tucked behind my ears or some type of pulled back/up style when it's long. if my hair is left near my face, my bone structure gets very weighed down (am a sg btw)

I am a soft gamine! I have grown my hair out long again and whenever I style my natural waves I’m always told I look like a mermaid. Obviously I love looking like a mermaid so that’s why i love my hair long ❤️

Same lol I've been told that I look like a princess or a doll, not a mermaid 😅 but I love to play with my hairstyle making it look shorter sometimes, without cutting it, of course.

My 22 year old daughter DEFINITELY looks like a mermaid and Disney princess with long touseled hair. She is Beautiful!!!! When my hair goes past MY shoulders, I get told I look so young, I could be in SCHOOL! I'm almost 52!!! I have it in a straight bob right now, and in my natural butterscotch blonde/very light brown color. Most people think I'm between 35 and 40, if they don't know I have kids. Longer hair gets heavy on my head and lays flat in the back. It's naturally type A wavy, an S shape. When I was a teenager, it was permed. Thinking back now, I can see how if I'd let it grow much longer, I, too, would have looked like a mermaid!!!! Yeah, 30 years ago, I could see this!!!! Can a soft gamine's face change to flamboyant gamine, with more yang, 30 years later???

My mom is the same lol, we are both soft gamines, she had long hair when she was younger but now she keeps it medium length because she thinks it makes her look way too young, some people even think she is my sister

I have naturally wavey hair so when it's long people often tell me I look like a princess. While most people like it on me, i enjoy having a more edgy gender neutral look so I stick to shorter styles.

Im a soft gamine. My hair is 2b black but its above my shoulder. When my hair is wet it past my armpit. I want longer hair to get the mermaid effect hehehe ❤️☺️

I'm in the middle of growing my hair out long... maybe I should go for a perm to make the waves in my hair stand out more! My hair's naturally slightly wavy, but I'd like more defined waves ✨

It's not that kibbe says SF look bad with long hair he just says you look a certain way with long hair so it's recommended to be avoided if you don't want that effect

Sometimes I wish I knew what type I am. Sometimes I think I am Soft Gamine, sometimes Theatrical Romantic, and when I'm REALLY confused I think I'm a Flamboyant Gamine... This is very hard to figure it out when you lose weight. I lost 33 pounds and I don't know which category I can fit in...

You're not alone in this. I can't decide on how much curve I have because of weight gain. I don't have much waist definition but my limbs are short so I'm going with soft gamine. Unless you're at your correct weight it can be a challenge to know for sure. Maybe try on some of the lines for each type.

If it helps, it doesn't matter if you lose weight or not, your type is the same. This was posted a year ago, but if you're still on this journey, don't give up. It took me 7 to 8 months to figure it out.

I can confirm this when I've tried on wigs with longer thicker hair. It looks as if a child was playing dressup, tbh. I find I look more mature with medium length wavy hair.

It doesn't matter to me what Kibbe has to say about hair. I wear mine on the longer side and that's what I feel best in. If it makes me look shorter then so be it.
